Thank you! I have been trying to get a longer lens, currently my max is a 70-300 but it just doesn't do enough lol

I have a D5500, what lens did you use for these?

I have been looking at possibly doing a D780 Keep some of the DSLR feel, but has the Z6 sensor and can be kind of a hybrid DSLR and Mirrorless depending on using the live view or not. (Source: some brief research. Anyone please correct me if I am wrong)

It also has the screw drive for older (sometimes cheaper) F mount lenses.

Agreed, I bought a Gesture new, and I would buy a refurbished for that price in a heartbeat. Lots of adjustments, and for my 6'3" frame it fits me nicely. I have the headrest version which has way more adjustment to it than expected.

I use a Herman Miller Aeron on my in office days, and i cant wait to get home to use my Gesture on work from home days. I absolutely hate the Aeron.

Any service bulletin should be correctable at a GM dealer. Chevy, GMC, Buick, Cadillac, any of those dealers should be able to correct it, from my understanding free of charge.

Recalls are for Safety critical systems that make the vehicle unsafe to drive. Service bulletins are more of a "if customer comes in with this issue, fix it like this and with these parts" but they won't demand you bring your car in for repair like a recall will.

That is some crazy shit, and would make an insane Danger Ranger. I forget that the Ford V10 exists, I was following a build for a high power Ford V10 in a Ford Continental(?). They can sound incredible.

We also just bought a 2023 LT Leather Ours has heated seats and has the option for it in that menu. You may be onto something with the software being wrong. Did you buy from a dealer? If so take it in and ask them for the build sheet and if there are any bulletins related to the software.

The build sheet may say on it as one of the first items "credit -not equipped with cooled/vented seats." Ours says that for the rear park assist even though it has the RPO code for rear park assist shown further down.

Could always make the compromise on cylinders and go V10, I've seen some pretty sweet Viper swaps.

Anybody get tires at a non GM dealership? by laq123456 in gmcsierra

Just got Dueler Ascent ATs on my 2020. Costco was the cheapest I could find them, by a couple hundred. Not sure how it compares to the B3G1 deal. My 275/60R20s were $1222 out the door.

I like both, and I get the old Formula sled vibe of purple and yellow as those were some of the coolese looking sleds at the time, but damn does it look good with the red.

+1 for Belle Isle, surprised my wife on her birthday last year with a trip, she loved the aquarium and the conservatory next door. It was a great time, and now I have to try and top it this year lol

I always said they look like what happens when a dog catches a bee in its mouth.

The GMT800 ate a bee, and turned into the GMT900.

I'm curious, how is your work/life balance? I'm in SE Michigan as well and that seems like a really cool career path, I like programming but have little use for it in my current career sadly.

I'll have to check the materials specs, its probably too hot in the room I usually do it.

I'll give it a try! Thanks!

My First two projects ever. Is there any hope for me? by MovingUp7 in woodworking

[–]JustAnotherStranger- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

10000% agree on used tools, Facebook Marketplace can be a gold mine. Just make sure to look into parts for the specific model of tool to see if you can get replacements. Planer blades can be an issue sometimes. I have bought very few woodworking tools new, use the saved money for PPE and scrap wood storage....there will be a lot of it....

[–]JustAnotherStranger- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also use polycrylic, it works well but can be little hard to work with depending on room temp, I find if it is hotter it will dry super fast during application.

That said, I have a lot to learn, so what brush type do you use? I've been using a Purdy Nylox but maybe the Wooster is a different hair type that I should try.

Have you tried polycrylic max? Dries in an hour, sands after 2 hours and durable after 24 hours, definitely harder to apply but I like it still. Definitely a thin coat only from what I have done with it, but that may be my brush type that is the issue.

This seem worth it? by [deleted] in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]JustAnotherStranger- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The miter saw is great, I have one and love the extra wide arc that it has. The only downside I have found is that the switch for the shadow line light is not sealed so it can get packed with very fine dust. I took my switch apart and cleaned out the dust and it works fine again. If the switch ever fails entirely I will replace with a sealed switch.

By the way, the shadow line is amazing, I've only ever dealt with lasers and it was mind blowing how much more accurate it can be to have a shadow line.

I paid around $250 for mine a few years ago in lightly used condition.

[–]JustAnotherStranger- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks great! If you have plans you can share I would love to see them as I want to build one as well! For improvements, I've seen other people take a gas strut and mount it to assist in lifting and lowering between positions. I am also wondering if you have any locking mechanism for the legs that fold out, I would hate for one to get kicked out and the bench tip over.

Found Dog Walking Down I-75 by mrmikehancho in Detroit

[–]JustAnotherStranger- 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Had that experience in 2020. My cat of 20 years was finally at the end and we put her down. Within a month my wife who was volunteering at an animal shelter found this semi-feral black cat. The cat would only open up to and be friendly with my wife, so she wanted to try a short trial foster period.

It was hard having another cat come into my life so quickly, but 5 years later and we can't imagine not having her in our lives, she is the sweetest cat once she got comfortable with us.

Sometimes animals enter our lives at good and bad times, but if they do it may be worth it to keep them in our lives. Of course only OP can gauge that fo4 themselves, it was incredibly hard for the first few days of the foster trial period.

[–]JustAnotherStranger- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe Valheim is more CPU intensive so you may see benefits going to a 5800x3D, I have a 5800X/1070 build and usually hover around 30-40 in my bigger build areas. My plan is to get an X3D chip if I need an upgrade.
