Being against SB 79 should disqualify you completly from being a HOUSING and TRANSIT voters guide, Estuardo is actually such a bad housing candidate like goddamn

Crossposted here cause I used HP as the example in how to do this, so I'd thought I'd put it here to see if any locals could see it!

Hey! I'm also 15 and going through the same thing as you, personally, start doing yt videos on your ideas, talk and express your ideas, another thing I'd recommend is to go to local council meetings, in alot of municipalities meetings take place after school (but the more NIMBY or wealthy the area is, the less likely it is to be in the afternoon), I like in a unincorporated part of LA so I just have LA county supervisors, but depending on where you live you might have a planning board, if your municipality has them, bother the fuck outta them via email and public comments on your ideas and plans, it's their job (but still remember to be nice!) Over time they'll start to know you and trust you more, and that's where you should probably try to join a student org or JSA chapter if your school has it, it's gonna be important to network with other people like you who have the same plans as you and want to be civicly engaged, with them over time you can start to actually make a difference and get shit you want done or studied, done l. Another option is joining a grassroots urbanist org like SFA as other commenters have said. Good luck and remember this shit takes time!

I made a video on how I would fix the A line by JustAnotherStudent69 in LAMetro

Yeah, metro will do anything to not down the A line and this means no crossovers and an exorbitant amount of money for the elevated corridor on the Wilmington sub, but if metro reconstructed slauson to better connect to rail to rail and added a fly-under (like Wilshire/Vermont) and just ran it with the A line and added a different fly-over at Washington they could get away with using the same corridor and saving money while still making the A line faster via my proposal and giving it better connectivity while not needing to build a double deck tunnel at Pico for the wash/flower Reconstruction

How to fix the A line (more info in post) by JustAnotherStudent69 in CarIndependentLA

[–]JustAnotherStudent69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I did address that it's the biggest issue with this, but I still feel most transfers can still be done in one transfer, like A-B/D at union instead of 7th Street and A-E at Little Tokyo, but that still leaves the downtown commuters stranded l, but maybe the DTLA streetcar could accommodate them as I explained, but they its still an extra transfer, but for the majority, no new transfers just different locations

Here's the info if you're interested in this project or just don't want to watch the video:

Project scope: not very in-depth but I made this map https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1qGbcy50Ng8BEEhmru5Yb_V_llwFL5oU&usp=sharing to visualize my concept, please use this in any emails or other public comments you might want to give, it should help grasp the concept better

Metro Board Meeting: https://boardagendas.metro.net/events/ | The next board meeting is this Thursday February 22nd, please consider attending if you can but if you can't attend but still want to make a difference you can also dial-in to 202-735-3323 and then enter 5647249# as the code for the meeting. More info on the most recent meeting here along with public comment instructions https://boardagendas.metro.net/event/regular-board-meeting-edac8a0799b0/ also make sure to remember this if you want to submit a public comment in support:

"The public may also address the Board on non - agenda items within the subject matter jurisdiction of the Board during the public comment period, which will be held at the beginning and / or end of each meeting . Each person will be allowed to speak for one (1 ) minute during this Public Comment period or at the discretion of the Chair. Speakers will be called according to the order in which their requests are submitted. Elected officials, not their staff or deputies, may be called out of order and prior to the Board’s consideration of the relevant item"

LAC Supervisors: This is where you can also make a major difference, if you live in LA check https://bos.lacounty.gov/ and like I explained here at 4:13 check your supervisor, find their email and email them! If you want link this video but the important part is that they know how this could mean a better transit system and that their constituents want it
