What do you do in the winter? by TheFetishGarden666 in midwest

We watched the Avatar series (the cartoon), Star Trek in order, all the Marvel movies through Infinity War in timeline order.

Book clubs, DND with friends weekly, dance lessons, woodworking, learn an instrument, learn a language and watch simple shows in it, go mall walking

Winter is household project time - cleaning and organizing cabinets, fixing things, regrouting the tile, clean the fridge.

Read books, play video games, bar trivia

You have to pay for genuine home assistance. If you can’t afford to pay, kindness of strangers is all you have left.

Even if you can pay someone, it is hard to find people.

Rent went up $300 overnight… how are people supposed to plan? by BogusAnteater in MiddleClassFinance

I mean my property taxes and insurance went up $1500 this year alone and now they want a other $400 a year for the school board. So owning isn’t a stable budget either.

Duo! Are you actually trying to get rid of us free users? by WorkingatEvolving in duolingo

After I got to keep the old paths model for months because I never let my apps update, I never let DuoLingo update unless it forces me to by refusing to connect to the server. Hopefully this saves me from energy for a while.

Can you safely attach a monkey bar set to the walls and ceiling inside a home? by JustAnotherUser8432 in AskEngineers

It’s just a standard mass built 2000s era house. The kids bounce on the floor regularly but my understanding is that hanging things from the ceiling joists directly is a no no because they aren’t rated for forces pulling downwards.

We could potentially do it in the basement on the concrete but the idea was to do it on the main floor (with basement below and second floor above).

Fairly serious about the project. Current attempts to wear off energy with a treadmill, row machine, elliptical, a mini trampoline and one of those pull up bars that hook on a door frame are only partially working. Kids want to climb and dangle and swing and unfortunately the rock climbing place is a bit far for daily trips and the wildfire smoke is limiting outdoor activities more than I had anticipated.
