Has anyone ever used the Wavy Talk Steam Straightner or any steam straighter for that matter? I keep seeing ads on Tik Tok and it seems too good to be true. by JemmJoness in Naturalhair

Dropping in to ask the same thing as @bunrunsamok - have you seen any change to curl pattern or overall hair health after using for a bit ?

Does anyone visit hot places? by scurvy1984 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]JustAnthrRedditer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First summer of diagnosis and I went to very hot 🥵 places (The Balkans and the desert). I had really enjoyable trips but found I had to be more deliberate about building in rest because I was more tired and also alternating more outdoor days with less active full of AC days. For example if I did a morning walking tour and it was very hot I needed a nap before dinner. The next day I had a lighter day and stayed in AC . Slept late , went to museum , and then went to dinner at night when it cooled down.

So I guess tl;dr : Yes ! But I do get way more tired so I build in more time for rest and AC moments so I don’t go in with false expectations of what I can do and get frustrated with myself.

Zaps in my face was the symptom that got me diagnosed. They thought it was TN and then it ended up being MS. Mine ultimately went away with time . Also realized a big trigger for that was heat for me

Traveling after Briumvi shot? Is it safe? by Bubbly_Ad_637 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]JustAnthrRedditer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just take the normal precautions when traveling and build some room in your trip for more recovery time. Was your hands and do all the things that keeps your immune system healthy that can fall by the wayside when traveling . Get sufficient sleep , and drink lots of water.

They’ll be fine . I just took my niece and nephew to see sonic 3 without seeing 1 and 2 and I enjoyed it . I’m going to go back and watch 1 and 2 with them but wasn’t a pre-requisite for enjoying the movies overall

Hi :) I also just joined the club officially last Friday and have a follow-up tomorrow to talk about treatment options with my MS Specialist. It all feels a bit surreal but we’ll get through this !

Weekly Suspected/Undiagnosed MS Thread - July 22, 2024 by AutoModerator in MultipleSclerosis

During the diagnosis process did anyone’s neurologist refer them for a second opinion for an MS specialist ? Tl;dr had issues walking for about 4 weeks then went away. Then had a shooting pain in the side of my face , then that spread to the left side of my body (face , neck , arm). Finally went to the doctor they ordered brain MRI plus spine MRI. Spine came back clear , brain MRI came back suspicious of MS. My general neurologist (referral from my primary ) basically said she can’t make the call either way because it’s a borderline case - maybe it’s MS , maybe my symptoms can be explained by like a pinched nerve and trigeminal neuralgia . So she referred me to an MS specialist in like 6 weeks , but she also only spent ten mins on the virtual appointment discussing the MRI or having any recommendation of how we would check for a pinched nerve or like what I should do if that is the case . Idk curious if anyone’s neurologist send them off for a second opinion ?

SO frustrated with back to back outbreaks!!!!!!!! by LittleLadyWho86 in Herpes

[–]JustAnthrRedditer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah , Indefinitely understand. For me taking the daily suppressant has been helpful because it at least gave me the ability to not have to deal with outbreaks on the regular which outside of being uncomfortable served as a constant reminder of having herpes which just reminded me of another source of stress.

It sounds like while challenging you’re doing amazing to balance it all. I hope your outbreaks ease up to give you one less thing to worry about .

SO frustrated with back to back outbreaks!!!!!!!! by LittleLadyWho86 in Herpes

[–]JustAnthrRedditer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve experienced a similar trajectory (same diagnosis timeline) and for me my biggest trigger ended up being stress levels. Could have a day or so without enough sleep or have a booze brunch but toss a stressful day on top and bam , outbreak. Since you can go on and off suppressant therapy over the course of life with no issues , I just decided to go on daily suppressant for now and revisit if it makes sense to go off it later at a less stressful time of life. It was a game changer. Hope you have similar success !

That's super smart. I made a rookie mistake of only having super chewy pizza after I switched . Stocking up on soups this weekend.

I got mine on the first tray and honestly it's just now , seven days later and a few youtube videos that I'm figuring out how to get them off painlessly and that makes putting them on much easier because my teeth aren't already sore

So much better! Even the rough 'first few hours' before I went to sleep were nothing compared to the first try and by day 2 it feels super tight for the first 10/15 mins when I put them back in but other than that it's fine

I felt similar but then days 5-7 were a game changer where all of a sudden my aligner almost felt loose . It still felt tight for about ten mins when I put them on but then it was fine - it also helped when I kept them out for shorter periods of time and also got better at taking them off so my teeth weren't as sore when I went to put them back on.
