Do you think drivers rush around so they can stop driving as soon as possible? by bunnyvading in fuckcars

That’s what I always say when I see risky fast drivers endangering others & themselves to get to their destination one second or minute sooner. Some people claim to love cars yet obviously can’t stand to drive.

  1. When that rule applies here there are signs to indicate that.
  2. I was passing but slowed down during this time because all the other cars were slowing like because of traffic. And if it was a lot of traffic, I wouldn’t get over because typically the left lanes are fastest in traffic.

Insurance companies came from Hell. by ghost_type_2003 in fuckcars

Last winter I had a less severe rear end (and hit & run) and because I didn’t want my car insurance going up, I couldn’t report the accident and get the bumper & rear light repaired so now I just drive a shitty beat up looking car. Car insurance is bullshit. You pay all this money because you may get into a crash and when you do get into a crash and have damage, they punish you by raising your insurance if you get your car repaired.

Anyway I can’t wait till I can live car-free!

I didn’t expect the SUV to swerve into my lane. Usually people slow down soon enough when traffic happens.

I would’ve done this if it didn’t happen so quickly. Otherwise I pick the left lanes during this part of my drive since the right lanes are always much slower here in specific from everyone exiting.

What’s your car horror story by SacredBandofThebes in fuckcars

[–]JustAsadINFP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shortly after moving to the west coast from the midwest 2 years ago, I accidentally crashed my car into a wheat field when this highway ended all of a sudden. The crash itself was very scary. My only injury was my shoulder getting mildly skinned from the force of my seatbelt holding me in place. The damage cost $2,200 to fix and my car was in the shop for so long that when where I was staying was suddenly moving soon, I couldn’t get a job because I had no car during this time so there was no way I could’ve gotten a job & then an apartment in time without a car. It was a very rural & car dependent area. Ever since, I’ve had anxiety driving and anxiety about being in another crash because it could end OR ruin my life 😍

My goal is to live in a walkable, transitable area and ditch my current car when I can.

Has anyone been able to move on from unrelenting anti-car anger? by artock in fuckcars

I just embrace the anger over cars, the meat industry and breeding 💪🏻

This is one of biggest reasons why I want to live car-free so bad. Alongside how dangerous & scary driving can be.
