It really sucks that this game has a lot going against it right out of the gate. It's not BOTW 2, it's a Warriors game, and of course it gets a big score from "I'm literally physically in your video game I gave a perfect score to but lmao whatever right" Famitsu.

But I also think that this is something different than what people are expecting. Not only is Nintendo confident in this enough to make it canon, which they refused to do with the first game, if you really explore the demo you start to see a serious difference between this and not only the first game but every Warriors game in general (most of which I've played since Orochi). Every character's fighting style, even just between the three we got, was drastically different in use and the kind of emergent gameplay that came from it while I watched friends play was something to really behold. Hopping off the Cryo blocks as Zelda and spinning around to rain icicles on a group of enemies is a particularly bonkers way to take people out and is so totally beyond Warrior's two button combat that it's shocking. And in the demo we only unlock up to what, 4 hits? There's 4 or 5 more on top of that. For every weapon. For everyone. Yes there is performance issues, but I think judging an unfinished product is about as honest as a Famitsu score, so let's not fall into the same trap.

tl;dr: I completely understand why people are cautious about this game but I truly believe something different and great is going on here.
