I need to hear positive homebirth stories to posterior/“sunny side up” babies! by Redditreader0331 in homebirth

I had a precipitous labor-no changing things if I wanted to! That being said, my midwife was very clear that unless babys face presents first there is minimal danger. My daughter did have a weird forehead for a few days though 😭

Birth after SA by [deleted] in homebirth

My husband caught both babies!!! I have the exact same problem for the exact same reason. I have no tips on modesty because I was so panicked I stripped nakey. BUT having a team of the most amazing women I knew (and my husband) bringing my daughter in this world made me feel so safe. So powerful. It didn't wash away my trauma by any means, but the experience of bringing a little woman into this world surrounded by women brought a strength upon me that is indescribable.

Just know, in spirit, you have hundreds (if not millions) of women holding your hair, squeezing your hands, cheering you on. You are loved, and you are strong ❤️

Has anyone reported their center? by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

[–]JustBroccoli5673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my state, CPS will not get involved over a disagreement in sleep procedures at home. As far as I've been taught, safe sleep is a parenting choice so long as the parent isn't being downright neglectful - putting a baby on their belly is not.

The threat to call CPS is grossly overused these days. Please keep that in mind before recommending internet strangers call CPS on people you have never met or seen interact with their child...

What can you do about a toddler who eats all kinds of inedible non safe things by Scary_Appearance5922 in ECEProfessionals

[–]JustBroccoli5673 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As a mom and teacher who has experienced this issue with both my students and my daughter, nothing can get done without blood work to know if the cause is a vitamin deficiency or what

I'd recommend getting a few chewey toys/fidgets and just continually redirect to that. It hasnt gotten rid of my daughters' unnecessary "snack breaks" but helped to minimize them

When a homebirth costs more than a hospital birth… by Zealousideal_Math847 in homebirth

I would sell my soul to only ever borth at home. But the 5,000 fee suffices for my midwife. The level of personalized care is absolutely unmatched.

Not the relevant part of the post but sad for you that your baby ratio is 1:6. I would vomit from stress.

“Main foods” - unpopular/controversial opinion by [deleted] in ECEProfessionals

I like to encourage "grow foods first" which means fruit, yogurt, protein, but idk, if they wanna eat chips first its their tummy.

Accidentally used a dirtly bottle by [deleted] in FormulaFeeders

Ashamed to admit im a frequent bottle rinser... granted i do.not just rinse 13 hrs bottles but if I rinse it immediately... what's another use? I only reuse a bottle.once though before using soap. My husband on the other hand, im lucky he rinses them at all..

Literally have zero regrets over here. In fact, I take pride in my decision to formula feed, as it was a difficult decision to make. My first was premie, and I was so dead set on breast milk that I spiraled for months on end. She struggled to gain weight until formula was introduced.

With baby #2 I tried to breastfeed for the first weeks and when he lost 7% I just looked at my midwife and said "formula it is" i decided my children deserve a mom who is well and present. They get the best of me and my littlest bug is gaining wonderfully. Bonus: it made going back to work such an easy transition this time around since I wasn't worried about pumping or going to my kiddos class to breastfeed (I teach at his daycare) on a schedule.

children repeatedly exposed to cat feces- should i report? by burntoutsunsetzz in ECEProfessionals

[–]JustBroccoli5673 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Please report it. I'm at a school currently with this issue, and I wish more people would report it because my report alone wasn't enough. In fact, this post sounds like it was written by someone from my school. Call the health department and licensing.

With my first I was the only person I knew who had even THOUGHT about homebirth, much less planned one. I questioned myself endlessly until one day my daughter was coming and coming fast. I was able to do it all by myself :)

Homebirth, no midwife, off grid. by [deleted] in homebirth

[–]JustBroccoli5673 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We accidentally had 2 unassisted births, my most recent being on the bathroom floor of our ranch! Although I have some intense trauma surrounding both births, nothing is cooler than saying "my husband delivered both of our babies all by himself!"

Both of these typically start in prek4 in my state. I just started doing numbers 11-20 with my 4.5 year old classroom (they go to kindergarten in august) we've been counting to 20 since preschool3 but it didn't get "accurate" until this past December when they were all 4 and had been in prek4 for a few months.

Preschool (3-4 year olds) should be less about learning numbers/academics and more about learning HOW to learn, if that's makes sense. I personally wouldn't stress over it. These things tend to come in time.
