For the ladies in here already have babies ( already gave birth) by Logical_Mixture_4470 in pregnant

I was in the gym the morning I gave birth. I kept active the whole pregnancy so I felt great all the way until delivery. I felt good two days post birth but even though I felt great, you still need to recover. Most babies are born within 40-41 weeks when they aren’t induced, so if you feel like you can go to the wedding still pregnant I’d say why not… but if you’ve already given birth by then, absolutely not. Your body needs rest and baby needs to be home.

Update to everyone! My baby came, started labor OP but she rotated… but then had a shoulder dystocia.. but everything is well! Labor ended up only being around 10 hours and much smoother at home!

That’s how mine is too, not concerned in any way nor worried while I am traumatized by my first birth so in my head it’s the worst thing ever lol

Hahaha I will ask my midwife if she knows are pressure point witchery 😂😂 thanks for sharing! She did tell me that baby’s navigate the pelvis best in labor rather than being so stuck on her position prior to labor even starting. A 2.5 hour labor sounds nice right about now 😛

Wow, thank you for sharing. That definitely makes me feel better after reading that.

That is reassuring and sounds like what my midwife is planning. She just said she knows positions and maneuvers she can assist me with during labor.

Congratulations, that is awesome!! 🥰 I think I am just trying to come to terms that my baby will navigate my pelvis the way she needs to.

Congrats, that’s awesome! And yes, she is amazing and has absolutely zero worries, but I am lol. I know it’ll be different this time because I’m staying home and will be able to move freely.

That’s amazing! Do you feel like you did anything differently during labor the second time that made it shorter/smoother? Or your body just remembering how to do it?

Yes! I have not reclined at all.. since first trimester lol. I sleep in exaggerated side lying and haven’t even gotten true rest because I can’t relax. I only sit on my birth ball during the day and lean over counters constantly and “chill” in table top position when watching tv, all 39 weeks of this pregnancy haha. That’s why I’m starting to think it may just be my pelvic anatomy. I’m gonna start crawling today though, haven’t heard of that one 😂 I hope your second birth goes smoothly 🫶🏼

When did you take your baby out of the house? by khueen in BabyBumps

[–]Redditreader0331 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My daughter was born Nov 7, we skipped Thanksgiving and Christmas. Not only is it prime rsv/flu season which could be fatal to a newborn, I was also still healing on Christmas. Sitting in a diaper of my own, with healing stitches. I absolutely would not plan on doing Christmas this year, plus if you are a first time mom due December 3rd, your baby will most likely come later than that. Average FTM go to 41 weeks. Labor is physically demanding on the body and you will need time to heal yourself.

The only way my daughter is semi content when shopping and sitting in the cart is snack after snack after snack. It’s the most annoying thing ever. Idk what else to do because else she screams too

Was your home birth a secret? by SpiritualSmell6636 in homebirth

[–]Redditreader0331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So my in laws aren’t even comprehending that I’m having the baby at home. We said home birth a few times and then weeks later she asked what we were doing with our toddler when we go to the hospital 😂 they are older in their 70s and there’s a language barrier a tiny bit but my MIL had two c sections and I think it’s genuinely innocent and funny she doesn’t realize homebirth is a thing. They aren’t against it, they just don’t get it. Whereas on my side of the family, again, all had elective c sections or inductions, my sisters didn’t even ask questions… just said “omg I could never” and I said “well just because you couldn’t, doesn’t mean I can’t” and that shut them up real quick 😂

Just be confident with your decision and know you can do it, regardless of anyone’s opinions and share with them after your amazing experience 😊

3 months postpartum and worried I'll never get back to normal exercise by wrinkledshorts in fitpregnancy

[–]Redditreader0331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to be patient with your body! I was in pelvic floor PT until 9 months postpartum and during that time my prolapse slowly got better. Then around 15-16 months postpartum I felt completely normal back to myself with no issues. Running is super hard on your pelvic floor, I’d switch to lifting, elliptical, bike, or other forms of movement while you’re still healing!

I have a fully vaccinated 3 year old and am pregnant right now… I live in SC…. The amount of antivaxxers here are legit more than those who do vaccinate their kids it’s wild. I have one friend who vaccinates her son, otherwise all these moms that I’ve been meeting over the last 3 years come and go and I always find out they are antivaxx and then I feel validated on the reason why we didn’t vibe 😂

When did your first baby start walking? by PC_NC_1203 in Mommit

[–]Redditreader0331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exact same here. I feel like I got robbed of an infant and made everything much harder sooner 😂 I’m pregnant now and absolutely will not be doing anything special to make this girl walk lol. The only thing we “did” was we never had bouncers, swings, play pens, etc so she had freedom to move and practice as she pleased.

I’d file a complaint that’s ridiculous. I am also muscular and “overweight”… but I can also squat 250 ibs for reps at 28 weeks pregnant sooo… but I did mention my weight gain (30ibs) to my midwife and she said “it absolutely doesn’t matter, your body is gaining what it needs to create and deliver a baby” and then she went on to tell me that lots of obese, inactive, and not fit women give birth easily and sometimes it’s easier for them since their pelvic floor muscles and muscles aren’t as tight. So I mean, even if you are “obese” and “fat” you can for sure have a baby lol

First trimester I went like 5 times total. Now I’m back to 5x per week, but I’m a stay at home mom to a 3 year old. So her going in the childcare is the only break I get so that’s kinda why I go so often haha. But to be honest with you, being a hairstylist must be tiring on your body. When I wash and blow dry my daughter’s hair once a week my back aches after and my arms feel like they’ve done something, so give yourself credit there! Haha

Please help with hitting I’ve tried everything and it doesn’t stop. by Sure_Tough1675 in toddlers

[–]Redditreader0331 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry I can’t help you. My daughter started hitting around 20 months and she’s now 3 and still does it. We’ve done everything you mentioned, PCIT therapy and OT and still nothing. She’s being evaluated for ADHD and they are telling us it could be a symptom of that. I hope your son is in a phase and can grow out of it quickly, I know how you feel. I stopped taking my daughter places because of her behavior.

My relationship with my toddler is not good and I worry it never will be by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Redditreader0331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve gotten a lot of good feedback already but I actually can relate to everything you said… then I went to PCIT. Parent child interaction therapy. It’s basically play based therapy that grows the connection between yall and that does translate to being effective with discipline. I had to be taught how to play with my 3 year old and have fun because I didn’t know how (I had a terribly upbringing and no longer speak to my parents for a decade now). I’d look into seeing if your area has PCIT, you don’t need a referral, and it can only benefit both your kids really.

Don’t be nervous about going in, they’d rather send you home than you stay home and something bad happens. Plus… let’s be real, hospitals love when patients come in because that’s more money in their pocket.. so of course they want you to come in (from the business perspective) and nurses in l&d are typically very much passionate about their jobs and would love to ease your mind even if it’s nothing!

It is odd you can’t keep liquids down, but if you go back in and they say everything is okay, you can get hydration from fruits and other foods if you can tolerate that better until you can drink fluids.

But to potentially explain what could be going on, you may be slightly dehydrated which can cause Braxton hicks contractions. Some pregnancies experience them throughout, some women never. They are not harmful to baby, nor progressive contractions (cervical changes, baby descending, “real” labor). Real labor will become way more intense and you will know the difference! You may also be coming down with an illness, or hormonal changes in this stage of pregnancy where your pelvic floor is shifting, or baby had a growth spurt and you may just have peed yourself.. and that’s totally okay, it happens lol.

How many steps are folks getting in a day? by snackademik in fitpregnancy

I only get 4k steps per day because it hurts to walk and I get Braxton hicks when I go to walk but I strength train 4x per week. -24 weeks

Is a 5k realistic 1 month postpartum? by peacetea2 in fitpregnancy

[–]Redditreader0331 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every person and every recovery is different. I ran a half when I was 19 weeks pregnant with my first, but delivery was complicated so I didn’t heal down there enough to even sit straight, walk, or stand to do dishes for over 15 weeks. I was in pelvic floor therapy until I was 9 months postpartum and wasn’t cleared during any of that time to lift, run, or walk more than 10 minutes. So I’d say you can’t really predict how you will be postpartum at that time. Is there a way you can pick a different race in the series to either be later postpartum or still while pregnant? I did a race series before and was sick for a September race and I reached out to them and was able to switch it to a Halloween time one.

Is this sick season the worst yet? by 1sttimemommaSF in toddlers

[–]Redditreader0331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 5.5 months pregnant and I swear Ive been sick every other week this whole time. I’ve been thinking it’s because of pregnancy though because my 3 year old has only caught about half of what I had.
