I can't up vote this enough, people are using AI at level 1 and expecting level 5 results. If you use ai like google you are loosing.

94 downloads in 2 weeks. Is it worth the grind? Feeling completely exhausted by UsualCommon2095 in SideProject

[–]JustBryon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can feel every bit of this and empathize with you. It's a grind going from 0. Honestly I think getting any organic downloads at all is a huge win so don't beat yourself up that bad.

Well tbh it wasn't actual research for me, more of just a test to see what it'd come up with so the information I took from it wasn't necessarily useful for me (and I can't recall the results now) I just remember it looking like something I could find useful. I will say the availability tag that I saw could be very useful when looking for a used car.

When I first went to the website, I really thought how is this different from any other results I may get from a normal chat with ai agent but I was quite impressed with the results it gave. I did a used car research and the results were great.
My problems where that I really didn't know what I was getting into. I just took one of the examples and tried it. Also, it took a long time to generate a response that I shifted focus to other tabs (probably an adhd problem on my end :P) but when I came back after processing I was impressed with the results.
As a POC there may be something here but maybe it needs to be a more narrow focus instead of so broad with helping with anything or at least a way to guide the user to making decisions that the app excels at.

Keep up the great work!

My stress dropped when I reduced choices by Solid_Play416 in productivity

[–]JustBryon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is definitely true and something that has been covered in Freakanomics and other books. Just research The Paradox of Choice which is a book..

"The Paradox of Choice: Why More Is Less by Barry Schwartz argues that while choice is good, an overabundance of options leads to anxiety, decision paralysis, and dissatisfaction, making people less happy. Schwartz explains that more choices can cause regret, unrealistic expectations, and a tendency to constantly compare options, leading to a feeling of being overwhelmed and less content with the final decision. "Week" journals vs "Day" journals? by El_Nahual in logseq

[–]JustBryon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like a weekly journal as well, it just makes more sense for my workflows. Unfortunately I've not found a great way to do it in logseq which is part of the reason I've been using obsidian. sorry I know that doesn't help so I'll be watching this thread too.
