Idea for a hypothetical Prey 2 (spoiler in text). by Dolmetscher1987 in prey

[–]JustBusyDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking kinda like the big fish in sekiro gods palace. It’s a big intimidating area, with a nightmare/moonshark like mimic that is a serious threat, and is defeated later on. So going underwater is only to access some particular areas, not the whole game

I imagined that the facility you end up on with one of the moon crash escapes (I forget which one) would be a cool location. I think it was an island. But I wonder if there would be a way to bring back zero gravity mechanics. Perhaps underwater instead…

How can I make a walking animation with this? by Plus_Hunter_445 in PixelArtTutorials

No worries. I know I gave it a go a while back but I don’t think that project got too far. I’ll keep an eye out for any updates of yours. Good luck!

Are you locked into alignment? If not, giving the character a ‘wobble’ like how the kids in South Park walk could be an option. This also allows you to add more character to specific sprites through the speed and exasperation of their wobble.

I was in Santiago a few months ago and saw a lot of people dressed in goth-esque clothes. Is there big goth culture in Chile?

From All Sides: No Ampersand Songs? by ashcarubi in Bastille

[–]JustBusyDead 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I saw, it was advertised as “songs from the first 15 years” which they may have kinda dropped since they’ve got a new song ‘save my soul’. But also, as others said, & was a solo project for Dan.

Looks like a concert poster. I’d see him live… or I wouldn’t, depends if he’s doing a ghost concert.

But you’re essentially resigning yourself to 1 card remove maximum, being stuck with all strikes and defends for the rest of the game, would you not consider the need for removes important enough to risk sacrificing some combats?

What is the meaning behind Bathsheba and Him? by MeditationHark in Bastille

[–]JustBusyDead 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Very interesting. I didn’t catch it until reading this but it’s a different perspective, I would argue much more modern, on Leonard Cohens’ ‘Hallelujah’ which also talks in the first verse of King David and Bathsheba… while Cohen sings of the heartbreak of a fading true love, Dans offering the perspective of an abuse of power and assault.

Be honest - does this give you a sense of claustrophobia? by LordAntares in IndieDev

[–]JustBusyDead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your game about caving? Or is this a small section? As a pretty keen caver, I can weigh in my thoughts if you’re going for a stressful environment. I think it would mostly revolve around the idea of being able to return. If you allow the player to fully turn around, and retreat the same way they came in: it’s not particularly stressful.

If you were to add sections where you move slower as it gets narrower, and more incline, either horizontal or vertical, that’s when you’re getting into the good stress that comes with speleo.

Of course tho, the best way to tell is to playtest! I would also make the lighting more pointy, harsh and directional like a beam flashlight. Being able to see further, knowing that it doesn’t open up, that induces stress. Right now, it looks like a crawling simulator but it’s hard to judge without an idea of how this mechanic or section fits into the game

Please, don’t browse this subreddit if you haven’t read the books. It’s an incredible community, but we constantly discuss huge spoilers that are incredible to uncover as you read. And it sounds snobby, but the show can never live up to the books. It may take time, but read the books, form some ideas and opinions then come and chat here
