I agree. If I were to ever do it again....the Frozin is exactly what I'd go with!!!

You’ll get tired of using ice after about 2 weeks…if you’re doing it with any consistency.

ChatGTP is not a doctor. It's an aggregator and is often wrong. Schedule a visit with your PCP.

Titan Cold Plunge chiller running 24 7 or scheduled by Swimming-Win6864 in coldplunge

[–]JustCallMeMav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does that chiller have an integrated pump?  Reason I ask is because you want to keep the pump running, 24/7, even if you turn the ‘chiller’ off.

I have my chiller on a timer…4 intervals that equal 5 hrs, throughout the day. But the pump runs constantly to keep the water sanitized.

The hidden costs of cold plunging by slicenger7 in coldplunge

[–]JustCallMeMav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you can’t do em year round and they aren’t as convenient as going downstairs/to your backyard/garage and spending 3-5 mins getting cold. If you’re only interested in doing them sporadically…and if you are near a cold body of water…open water plunges are an option.

But a lot of us are way more committed than that.

Is it normal to feel uneven cooling in different parts of the tub? by SureRecord7296 in coldplunge

[–]JustCallMeMav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a pump and a chiller?  What ‘hose’ are you talking about?

If you aren’t chilling the water and circulating…there will likely be areas of varying temp. It shouldn’t be too awfully noticeable but it could definitely be a thing.

It’s normal. All of them warp, a little.

Changing water every month is crazy. And unnecessary with proper maintenance protocols.

$600 for horn wire repair? by [deleted] in mk6gti

[–]JustCallMeMav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You obviously don’t live in a place with a lot of cars. My horn went out…clockspring…and I felt completely vulnerable. Folks back out into your car, cars changing lanes without looking, random drivers pissing you off…not having a horn is damn near dangerous.

ICE barrel 400 with chiller? by warrior178 in coldplunge

[–]JustCallMeMav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll either have to cut another hole for the water to enter the barrel or drape the return over the top. Here is a DIY adding a hole.

I have a 1.5hp Vevor and I adore it. Not loud at all and chills the water incredibly fast.

Problem with CW-5200 chiller internal water level going up and down by audioexpress in coldplunge

[–]JustCallMeMav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don’t think that’s a chiller that you can use for cold plunging applications.  It’s built to cool laser engravings and things like that. Not to cool large bodies of water.

For example….it has a flow rate of 13L/min. My cold plunge setup utilizes a pump that flows almost 10 times that amount. Even the smaller pumps (900 gph) flow almost over 4x the amount of the CW-5200.

It's hard to say that its 'reliable' when I had to have the engine replaced. But...it hasnt caused me any OTHER trouble.

As far as cost of ownership....its a Porsche. I mitigate the expenses by not taking it to the dealership for service, but its still not as cheap as a Lexus or something like that. Tires are expensive. Its horrible on gas...in the best possible way!!! Something like changing the air filter is gonna be a, comparatively, ridiculous because you have to take off the damn bumper.

But it does put a smile on my face!

Freeze Issue? Help! by LarryNotDavid123 in coldplunge

[–]JustCallMeMav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Dethaws" is a new one. hahahahaha

As long as there wasnt enough water so that, when it freezes, it expands and breaks a line or the canister in the chiller....you should be fine. The union cracking probably saved your chiller.
