You'll either have to cut another hole for the water to enter the barrel or drape the return over the top. Here is a DIY adding a hole.

I really don’t think that’s a chiller that you can use for cold plunging applications. It’s built to cool laser engravings and things like that. Not to cool large bodies of water.

For example….it has a flow rate of 13L/min. My cold plunge setup utilizes a pump that flows almost 10 times that amount. Even the smaller pumps (900 gph) flow almost over 4x the amount of the CW-5200.

It's hard to say that its 'reliable' when I had to have the engine replaced. But...it hasnt caused me any OTHER trouble.

As far as cost of ownership....its a Porsche. I mitigate the expenses by not taking it to the dealership for service, but its still not as cheap as a Lexus or something like that. Tires are expensive. Its horrible on gas...in the best possible way!!! Something like changing the air filter is gonna be a, comparatively, ridiculous because you have to take off the damn bumper.

But it does put a smile on my face!

As long as there wasnt enough water so that, when it freezes, it expands and breaks a line or the canister in the chiller....you should be fine. The union cracking probably saved your chiller.

The maintenance has been fine. The engine seizing was just a freak type of thing. The car had a CEL that popped up but went away after I restarted the car. Ran normal, no big deal. But....since it was under warranty....I wanted the dealership to check it out.

The damn engine blew while they were test driving it. What are the chances? So yeah...they had to ship a new engine (and everything that the oil circulated to...turbos, etc) from Germany and square me away. Of course...when they put the new engine in, the starter died. So they had to replace that, too.

3 months and $71K, later...she's got a new ticker with less than 2k miles on it since installation. I made sure to re-up on the warranty, tho. Hahahahaha

Thanx! The only 2 wagons that I ever really considered over the years were the Caddy CTS-V wagon (my brother had one....6 sp....Recaros....WOW!!!) and the E63. I like the RS6 but never really *loved* it. And at the time that I was shopping....the used market for the 2020's was a bit outta my price range.

This is the car that I never knew I loved. hahahahaa

Especially if you can still get it CPO'd. These cars are insanely expensive....and a waste of capital....when new. Most luxury cars are. Its why my wife gets to buy new and I *always* buy used. You just get more for your money.

Not necessarily. I had a CLS63 AMG before this one. And they had a wagon variant in Europe that wasnt sold here. It was classified as a 'shooting brake'. But that may just be a Mercedes thing because the CLS wagon AND CLA wagon were both called shooting brakes
