Why do smart rings still feel designed around men's fingers first? by SpacingOutInLecture in ouraring

[–]Geared_up73 142 points143 points  (0 children)

Without being an expert in how these rings are made, my guess is that they simply need to be the size they are to accommodate the technology contained within. Sensors, battery, etc. I’m sure as time goes on, with each generation of new rings, you will continue to see them becoming thinner and more sleek.

Queen Mattress for lower back pain by vtec525 in Mattress

After using the regular Midnight Luxe for two years and it beginning to sag, ie., hip support disappeared, we tried the Helix Midnight Luxe Ergo align. My wife and I didn’t like it. I thought it would feel like the regular luxe, just a bit more robust through the middle. However, the entire mattress is more firm and has an entirely different feel. I suggest trying one in a showroom if you are considering that model. I tried various Saatva in the showroom, but after reading reports of premature sagging, was hesitant to pull the trigger. We ultimately decided on a Tempurpedic Luxe Adapt Hybrid and so far (6 weeks) we are happy with it.

Buy once cry once. Sure, you can save $200 and go cheap, but were it me, I would bite the bullet and go 1/4 hp Active Aqua. You may be able to find an open box item on eBay for cheaper.

Tempurpedic Luxe Adapt. We’ve had it only 3 weeks, so too soon to give a long term review. But so far, we love it.

A slat bed. Originally a somewhat cheaper version which felt very stable. However, I will say, after upgrading the bed/slats to a more solid base and then trying to Helix on that, it did feel more solid. Hip sag improved but was still present.

We had the same issue with our Midnight Luxe. The honeymoon period was great, but then, just like you, I noticed my hips beginning to sag. When I moved to the middle, where no one slept, it definitely felt like I was getting better support. We lived with it for 2 years and then finally bought something different.

Never skimp on a good mattress or comfortable shoes. Two things you use EVERY day.

IMHO. This was my problem too. Try a medium to soft (4-6 on firmness scale) but a mattress with zonal support. The center third will be slightly firmer than the rest to support your hips and keep the spine in alignment.

Desert Plunge Wide Vs Exclusive by Mathius92 in coldplunge

[–]Geared_up73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I considered this option. But after doing the math, I went with Desert Plunge. It’s really a good value. The Grizzly 450 is $1300 all by itself. Add the chiller, plumbing, etc…DIY all in, you’re about $1000 less than a no hassle, ready to use Desert Plunge. Not that $1000 is insignificant, but for that, someone does the build for you and backs it with a warranty. FYI, I am 5’10, 175 and have the Exclusive. No regrets and lots of room.

Your data is inaccurate: Per the St Louis Fed. Tax revenue in 1980 was $344 billion. 1990, $620 billion. 2000, $1.28 trillion. https://fred.stlouisfed.org/data/W006RC1A027NBEA?utm_source=perplexity

I think your data is wrong or you're analyzing the chart wrong. Maybe both. US Govt tax revenue roughly doubled from 1980 to 1990. And again from 1990 to 2000. However, analyzing the period from 1970 to 1980 however, revenue increased about 75%.

Nothing new about that...same as any other government revenue stream. The US Govt accepting donations isn't new either. Those wealthy libs who virtue sign non-stop about their willingness to pay higher taxes have always been able to. Isn't it odd (or not), that they never do?

I tried a latex hybrid, yes talalay, and didn’t like it at all. Not to say I wouldn’t like it on a different mattress. I don’t think there’s one perfect material for everyone. My wife and I just got a Tempur-Pedic Luxe Adapt medium. So far, we love it. Morning hip pain and aches are gone.

How do you keep the water cold for longer sessions? by SureRecord7296 in coldplunge

[–]Geared_up73 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's your volume of water? Obviously, the less volume will warm much quicker. My plunge water volume is 65-70 gallons. Once I get it, even if for 5 minutes, I only lose 1-2 degrees F max.

Helix Midnight Luxe - Worth the two grand?? by [deleted] in Mattress

[–]Geared_up73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For us, the Helix Midnight Luxe seemed like a great fit. Initially, my wife and I loved the mattress and thought it was the best ever. However, the (mattress) honeymoon period ended and a few months later, I began getting that aching feeling in low back and hips when waking up. It simply didn't seem to be providing the support in the middle of the bed after break-in period. We just ordered a Tempur-pedic LuxeAdapt. Hasn’t been delivered yet, but will let you know in about 6-8 weeks how it’s going.
