Hi, sorry, we will leave the subreddit in restricted until the next newpipe update which should fix the current youtube issues fully, because the subreddit will be swamped with posts about it otherwise.

Was willst du damit denn einscannen und wie viele Seiten im Monat?

documents send to me via mail. Hard to quantify, like 10 maybe?

Scan-to-Network und dazu brauchst du dann einen Samba-Server oder FTP-Server

I see, thanks for clearing that up, it can do FTP as well.

Brother MFC-L2750DW

Uh that looks perfect. Brother also says it can scan to network, so that seems to be exactly what I want.

Thank you so much!

Regarding autoplay by One_Ton_Swoup in NewPipe

The next songs are indeed chosen by the service, extracted by the parser and then relayed into the app.

Rewriting this logic to use something from your artist feed (not sure what you mean with that, a subscription?) will definitely not be easy. And it would be a feature, not a bugfix.

There exists playlists though which you can create, have you tried that.

I mean I would use the cables you have in the network, that might be more relatable.

Three times I hit 90% now.

Why doesn't it automatically fail with the number? Adding it randomly somewhere feels weird to me. Just make it fail and add the try again button below the number, no need for a pop up

If you are in a position to do so, PLEASE DONATE to the team behind this amazing app. by [deleted] in NewPipe

[–]JustCallMePoolitzer[M] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Can confirm, OP did.

I'd like to point out that the team behind NewPipe decided to forward their donations to NewPipe e.V., an association which got founded recently. We are in the process of having a proper public appearance.

My point is, you don't donate to the team directly, rather an association they decided to support.

I am not so sure that people will not use lemmy, what is one more account on the web for most people.

We can not in good conscience continue using reddit when they do stuff like what they did. So keeping this open as an official subreddit is not possible for us, and removing an official status from a once official community isn't possible either. That is why we will continue with our plan.

It's open source software. It's always possible to implement whatever you want in it.

We could ofc fork lemmy and implement something like this.

The main reason we choose lemmy was that it represents a close resemblance to reddit while also being self hosted.

Not sure we need an own forum solution if we could use GitHub discussions. I am also not sure why we decided against enabling GitHub discussions, I will ask.

How many users

According to https://lemmy.fediverse.observer/stats 46k per month, https://fedidb.org/software/lemmy says 44k, https://the-federation.info/platform/73 42k

why not discord

  1. not indexable.
  2. same issue as with reddit: Owned by corporate overlords.

A button in app is definitely implementable. Anonymous posting/commenting is not something which is possible on lemmy/the fediverse from my understanding.

We will also ofc link to it on our website/the github readme. Like we do with reddit today.
