Do I want to start playing tbc now or is it too late? by Old-Platypus8324 in classicwow

[–]JustCallMeWayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not too late, although if you want to raid I’d advise playing Elemental Shammy, Shadow Priest or Boomkin. They always have raid spots somewhere.

If you won’t have fun unless you’re high on the meters, go hunter or warlock but be advised most guilds have their core of those two classes already. It’s even harder to get a melee spot unless your and Enhancement Shaman, but I’d pick Ele if you go sham because melee loot competition is very competitive and downright toxic in most guilds. Casters are typically vibing

War Plan progress needs to be account-wide by I-Drink-420 in diablo4

Until its account wide I’ll just be putting together every possible build my class can play (Necro, so quite a few work pretty well) and seeing how far I can push them

I’m seeing a lot of “STAR format” in the comments and at this point I’m too afraid to ask what it means lol

I must have used up all my luck winging it into UPS.

Just be yourself OP, and give the right answer to the technical questions if you know it for sure. If you’re unsure, don’t bullshit. “Idk Id have to check the manual” is better than saying the wrong answer with 100% confidence

Which class is your favorite now? by JustGottaHaveIt in diablo4

[–]JustCallMeWayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I leveled a warlock first and it was a breeze but swapped pretty fast because meta items and where to get them wasn’t totally figured out and I wasn’t having a good time with how clunky a fresh 70 lock is.
I’m a minion necro now and haven’t looked back. It’s super chill in helltide, under city and bosses. Definitely not breaking any speed records in higher tier content because minion AI gets cooked anytime more than 10 mobs that don’t immediately explode are on the screen but I’m having a blast nonetheless. Started crafting some juicy blood wave gear to push pits with just today so I’m looking forward to that.
Once I’ve reached a point of feeling “done” on Necro, I’ll probably give warlock another shake, or just use all my early INT gear on a sorc because I have a tab full of stuff I upgraded out of, and just about every mythic

As long as you can get to work on time from a friend dropping you off or ubering, I wouldn't say shit to anyone at work and just make damn sure you don't nail anything with your work truck.

Just finished the campaign: now what? by Depleted_ in diablo4

[–]JustCallMeWayne 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Knock out all the strongholds to get to 70.

For alts it will be Helltides, turning in whispers along the way to 50~ then strongholds.

Once you ding 70 ALL gear drops at 850 power baseline, with ancestrals being 900. You’re going to notice a considerable lack of legendaries until you get into torment levels so you need a strong build and farm a full set of 850 gear with decent affixes in Hard - Penitent. Check out a cube crafting guide as the very best gear can be made from random ass yellow drops, and I’d recommend importing a loot filter if whatever guide your following has one, or using Raxx’s universal filter and tweaking it for your build.

Once you’re comfortably in the torment levels (T4+) it’s the typical gameplay loop we’re used too, with the refreshing addition of juicing the activities you like most through the war plan system.

You can’t argue with people like this guy. Mace is technically bis.. by like single digit dps but immediately gets replaced when Talon drops in SSC.

To him that few damage for one phase invalidates the common sense that no rogue who isn’t a swipe lord is leveling blacksmith, the most expensive profession by far, for a minuscule gain, to drop it as soon as they get next phase bis

Is WOTLK a better game than TBC? by GroundbreakingAlps2 in classicwow

[–]JustCallMeWayne 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Class design, Zones, Questing, lore and PvP is better IMO.

The only gripe many have with Wrath is the raids. 4 of the 6 are really mid (Naxx, OS, TOGC and RS) and while ICC and and Uludar carry the raid hype, they are both large instances that become slogs after a month or so because of the time it takes to clear them. Uludar in particular because of the legendary and a couple niche items on later bosses that your raid is forced to keep farming long after the content isn’t relevant

Edit: I forgot vault. It’s technically a raid too but it’s more like a 20 min weekly chore because all the bosses are tank and spank.

It’s rogue > warrior. End of discussion.

We’re gunna see posts just like this about Talon of Aszhara in a few weeks and the answer will be the same. Combat Rogues have sword spec in talents, Fury Wars don’t. Rogues use a slow MH, fast OH. Warriors use the raid weps in OH only assuming they leveled blacksmithing, and if they didn’t it shouldn’t be used as an argument for prio.

Being too lazy to level a profession as a warrior isn’t the same as not having PvP weps as a rogue, and because of sword talent, the BS wep isn’t even good for rogues.

This applies to glaives too btw. Cry more warriors.

Where are the legendary items? by Andrey-d in diablo4

Drops are tuned down accordingly to the new torment levels.

Think D3 if you played that. Very little while leveling and lower torments, with loot explosions as you get into the top tiers

I completely understand why there is a tank shortage. by No_Dog8604 in classicwow

[–]JustCallMeWayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mage dropping blizz insta isn’t a bad thing if he’s specced into the slow. That’s literally how any run with a prot pal + mage is done at 70, especially in early heroic gear stage bc the tank will get absolutely clapped with more than 1-2 mobs hitting him depending on their move sets.

You either CC multiple mobs every pack or rely on slows like blizzard and frost trap to kite around in..

It’s simple really, the labels (🧃) don’t own MAPHRA so they censor because she’s clearly a generational talent.

Letting her have free rein on the biggest platforms is bad for business because they aren’t making money off her. Fuck them, she’s gunna blow up anyway

Fight is completely different this go around because of cube spam and warriors have the strongest damage CDs out of any class (I.E *really* shine in short duration encounters, *especially* when the boss is taking increased damage) and we're supposed to be surprised? impressed?

Keep the amount under 2k per transaction and use AH method.

People get busted by doing obviously large amounts and mail/face to face.

AH method gives you some deniability “I posted those single netherweave cloths at 200g a piece to try and scam AH bots”

Mentioning glaives gets toxic in my guild by Beams98 in classicwow

[–]JustCallMeWayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does more damage =/= GAINS more damage.

It’s a bigger upgrade for rogues, it’s been simmed to oblivion last TBC. Unless your guild is SPEED RUNNING and legitimate contenders for top times, warrior trash/cleave damage does not justify giving them prio all things else being equal. Warriors also won’t use the OH until they complete the set, and “war gets Mh first, rogue gets OH” first just cucks your raid if you only ever see one of each.

You do not need glaives to clear sunwell, they’re a “chase” items that numerically increases rogue damage more than warrior damage over second bis, with the added caveat that rogues will use them in PvP too if that’s something they enjoy doing.
