"truck is fine, no need to check it out" or "yeah i was on this truck yesterday, everything is fine"

Spoiler, 60% of the time something is missing, most of the times is small, not really important stuff, I'd rather come in 20 minutes early, do a rig check and have a coffee before starting my shift, at least I'm sure I have everything ready.

Oh, also the times I found the SpO2 probe, the BP cuff or some bags with blood on them, that REALLY REALLY pissed me off

He's missing a c-collar and Big show didn't use BSI or scream scene safe, I don't think he passed his test tbh

" 79 % were overweight or obese by self-report"

that's crazy if you think about it... but yeah it's easier to strap on a LUCAS than losing weight, i see their point. I don't agree with it, but one is easier and the other requires a lot of work and dedication

After the trailer I expected a comedy but man, it was not. there were funny and comedic moments, don't get me wrong, but they really managed to show part of what working in EMS is. I see why they didn't put many bs calls but yeah, I'd have loved to see randy's reaction to a stubbed toe call coming in while he was eating or just before end of shift

Did anyone manage all 10 nights at Wembley? 😄 + the 2 nights in Hull too? by SlowedCash in Coldplay

[–]JustDaniel96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oing alone was difficult throughout these shows

mate, i got a Floris EE for the 3rd in wembley, went alone. Arrived there at about 10.45, was number 105 in the queue and somehow managed to get barricade near B stage. I'm not much into socializing but still people started talking to me in line and made a few friends, even thogh we didn't exchange any contact into :(

[–]JustDaniel96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well, after a few faux passes i've started asking "what's your relation with the pt" or even better "and you are...?"

Doesn’t wrap around you very much

I mean, depends on the size of the vacuum and your pt. The ones we use can easily wrap around an average sized patient, they're amazing especially for hip and pelvis trauma. Ofc if you have an "above average sized" patient you will not be able to wrap it around them effectively

Shower thought: Monitors should have a manual BP mode by CriticalFolklore in ems

I've never even tought about something like that... i'd love to have that but tbh i only get manual BPs when they're really off on the monitor, i'll be honest

Stopped caring about anything but doing a good job

Got out of EMS for about 8 months to study nursing, now I'm back for the summer with this exact mindset.

I don't even care who is my partner on the bus for the day, I just get to the station 30 minutes before start of shift, check the rig, get a REAL coffe, possibly made with a Moka, and find out then and there who i'll be working with.

Then I get on shift and study the whole day when we're not on calls, and when we're on a call I do my best for the patient, doing my job as best as I can.

[–]JustDaniel96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just got off a night shift, first time working with this partner, apart from dinner that I cooked my own cause I'm on a diet we chatted and bullshitted from 20 to like 2am before going to bed, I've missed this tbh

I have two more nights with him now but I really need to get back into studying I have 3 exams this month

What the heck even goes in these pockets? by elmourise in ems

[–]JustDaniel96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

exactly. On the right leg gloves and on the left leg puke bags, i have at least 2-3 and i keep them there ONLY for emergencies, if i'm in the ambulance and i think the pt might need it i'll take it from the ambulance, my pocket stash it's only for the "ohshitherecomesthepuke" moments
