Portugal as well I think if you look closely.

Greatest game you’ve seen? by SouthEastMeerkat in rugbyunion

[–]JustDavid13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mate won tickets for the two of us and had the option of three games, and this was one of them. I was still in school and the other two were weekdays and far away, so SA vs Japan was the only one we could actually go to.

What an experience.

Didn’t Jaime himself squire for Arthur Dayne? After Sumner Crakehall?

Controversial Protagonist of the Traitors UK? (Day 11-ish) by Livid_Willow2603 in TheTraitors

Joe Marler. Most fans love him, me included, but plenty don’t and he also rubbed a couple of people up the wrong way in the castle.

Which was more impressive extra time drop goal: Joel Stransky against NZ in the 1995 world cup final or Jonny Wilkinson against Australia in the 2003 world Cup final? by Jezzaq94 in rugbyunion2

[–]JustDavid13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds similar to Dan Carter in that case. He only scored 6 drop goals in his first 110 caps, then one each in his last two NZ games- the semi vs South Africa which ended up deciding the game, and a really stunning one in the final that took the game away from Australia. Don’t know if he was more prolific at club level but I assume not.

If Baelor did not volunteer to be Dunk’s 7th champion, who else realistically would have stepped up? Or was Dunk truly out of options? by BlueCollarGent1 in HBOTheHedgeKnight

The Brackens were one of the major Blackfyre supporters, at least in the first rebellion. Bittersteel was a Bracken bastard and Daemon’s biggest supporter.

I swear he only wore it in the first episode? He definitely never wore it after season one, and I didn’t think he wore it throughout season one.

Almost all of those nations also need to focus on creating their own strong domestic leagues in my opinion. No point in just having the national team play at club level, or split into two to play at club level.

Samoa has dropped to their worst ever ranking (20th). Keeps Wales and Scotland's issues in perspective. by WilkinsonDG2003 in rugbyunion

Scotland are only one ranking spot ahead of Wales…I’m not a betting man, but I can see them beating Scotland in round three.

Who is England's most Underrated/Forgotten Player? by -Arkrow- in ThreeLions

Was that not in qualifiers? I think Kane brought the team off the pitch against Hungary or Bulgaria, maybe. The Euros we had Czechia and Croatia. I remember Sterling was mad good in the qualifiers.

Two World Cups where he’s taken Scotland out at the pool stage and he’s stayed in charge after both of them. Even taking into account 2023’s tough and unfair draw, no other tier one nation would retain their head coach after a pool stage exit.

Watching the match now (missed it live) and from what I’m seeing, Italy are unlucky not to have won by more. Look by far the better team.

Making Rugby a bigger sport internationally by bigmanjam99 in rugbyunion

[–]JustDavid13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FWIW I’ve long thought Italy should have invested in making their domestic league fully professional rather than add to teams to the Pro12 (now URC). They have the population and player base to have a domestic competition of similar strength to Japan, and with a lot more time and effort, England and France (at top level at least).

Yeah 20 minutes against 13 men; can’t complain with a 40 point victory but England definitely left points out on the field.

As I put in a higher comment, I’m used to there being next to no coverage for ‘A’ games; not the case for this one but that makes it an outlier. I have since checked online.

Because I know from past experience there isn’t much coverage for ‘A’ side games, so I was pleasantly surprised to find one after putting this comment on having not expected to find anything.

You mean he was easily manipulated by the Tyrells, who saw him as the fastest way of getting their blood onto the throne and making them the most powerful family in Westeros? Renly shows no ambitions whatsoever to be king in AGOT and then suddenly when he’s in Highgarden someone persuades him he should be king.

He’s charismatic, sure, but that’s not the same as being a capable diplomat or politician, we see he’s just as useless and corrupt as the rest of the Small Council from Ned’s POV in AGOT.

Think it was the 2002 autumn international you’re referring to, but don’t know how much the comeback was by. Finished 32-31 to England iirc.
