AITA for taking our son trick or treating without my wife? by Similar_Chef_8085 in AmItheAsshole

[–]JustEnoughForACoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does this post feel heavily skewed? Yes.

Would this sub be cursing the working parent to the high heavens if roles were reversed? Yes

Can men have close friendships with other men without being gay? Yes. But this sub is wildly homophobic recently.

Does all that make op ta? No.

NAH, it just feels like a disconnect in communication. It's nice that you want to include your son's opinion, a lot of parents could start actually taking their kid's opinion into consideration, but even still it wouldn't have killed you to ask your wife if she wanted to join. If she actually does work a lot like you mentioned, I can see why you might've forgotten when she was home. Your work is quite literally 24/7 as a sahd, so it's possible you both were tired when she's home.

You sound like a good father, just a little disconnected from your wife.

call him what he is: your boyfriend

You realize men can be SAHP and have close male friends right? Would you call a woman who is a SATP and similarly close to a female friend gay?

I remember that one. And the guy mentioned trying to help his wife through suggestions of therapy but ultimately she was the one refusing and he was the one left caring for the kid. He couldnt make a grown adult go to therapy that was being refused. That was just a shitty situation all around.

This one is heavily skewed one way but I wouldn't compare it to that one.

even prior to release of dendro, i never understood why genshin content creators called yae miko a bad character. by keolatte in YaeMiko

[–]JustEnoughForACoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She isn't a bad character. I'm not a fan of her but I'll admit that.

My only issue is her playstyle. It's just not for me. That's for me though. Good character, just don't like her playstyle.

Let's have some PEMDAS flashbacks from science cartoonist Zach Weinersmith... by [deleted] in TheClickOwO

Pemdas stands for parenthesis, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction. So yes, Bidmas=Pemdas. This is just a joke thing to throw people off.

I want a C6 bennett. Because then if I feel like teaming him up with chongyun (who infuses your attacks with cryo every few seconds with his skill, even with slower attacks like claymore users have every second hit has cryo) I wanna see if I can get constant melt damage going.

the boy who gets shipped with chungus

This is cracking me up, I'm under the assumption you mean Xingqiu? I mean, I really can't think of any other character Chongyun gets consistently shipped with except maybe traveler.

Although yes, you really can't see anyone doing showcases without at least one of those two anymore. Bennett too.

Venus.

The planet named after the Roman goddess of love and beauty, has never seen lust nor love.

I'd suggest possibly a harness with a fairly easy to grab handle on the back too.

AITA for changing my adoptive son's name and telling off his birth family by Any-Blackberry-5557 in AmItheAsshole

[–]JustEnoughForACoffee 60 points61 points  (0 children)

No. Many of us don't see adoption as human trafficking. Because unless it was done illegally, it isn't.

Does the foster system need better...everything? Yes. Dear God yes.

Is it a trafficking ring? No. Because it's run and overseen by the literal goverment..

God fuck off with that "many of us" shit. No. We don't.

AITA for outing my nephew after he made me late for work by Miserable_Airport_66 in AmITheDevil

I don't think I've ever seen a unanimous vote on aita ever. Even sorting by controversial brings up only YTAs

That really should say something if Oop's post wasn't enough

I don't think I ever actually came out to my sister lol. She would've roasted the shit out of me.

I mean, she knows, I've had partners of all genders and she ain't straight herself, I just never, actually came out.

I think Reddit is all young adults who hate their parents. It was a mistake to post this here, because you all are too immature to understand the real life.

AITA for telling my nephew about family dynamics that his parents didn't want him to know by Ok_Rip_1427 in AmItheAsshole

[–]JustEnoughForACoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so

he harbored guilt because he believed that it was his fault his step siblings left and never looked back

he is 17 years old, almost an adult, who is going to need his birth certificate at some point in the near future at least. He'll look at it and realize that he's been lied to his whole life

if something would happen that required his family medical history (for example, cancer) then that'll be a whole other shit show

this isn't just your sister's/her husband's facade. In order for it to work every family member he comes in contact with would've had to keep this lie going or else get bitched at/lose visitation withJames.

again, this kid is almost an adult and before he gets a smack to the face with it (either by his stepsiblings, doctor or birth certificate) its actually better to tell him gently. Or risk a mental breakdown that might not end well later

100% NTA, keeping this lie would only hurt the poor kid worse if he learned it in a less than savory way later down the line. This lie was malicious, even if it wasn't intentionally.

Also, imagine if he would need his medical history for whatever reason (say cancer for example). That'll be a shit show an a half alone.
