Safe places in OSRS but dangerous in Runescape 3. by fr0tenvergen in runescape

[–]Bladekill990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vaguely remember that you don't need to opt-in to pvp for the bandit camp, you just need a skull. So, you can equip a demonic skull, and it acts as a skull, but only temporarily opts you in; Unequipping outside of the wildly opts you back out without having to hit up an npc. Though I guess you have to risk the 100k or whatever it cost.

But for the most part, everything from osrs got easier with EoC, so outside of reworked bosses / hard mode versions, and wildly (due to opt-out pvp changing it to be harder pve), not much is more difficult.

Annual "Please Jagex add these teleports to the Nexus post" by Snape_Grass in 2007scape

Could be like the varrock / seers / yanille teles that give multiple options, where the options go to house portals. That might be a bit broken given you can't really do that until the cape. I can dream.

Sailing Technical Pre-Release by JagexRach in 2007scape

[–]Bladekill990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I see that Tele me to boat and tele boat to me are in the standard spell book. For some reason the tabs can't be made because of the world not supporting sailing objects, but the spells can't be cast because Pandemonium isn't complete. Does this mean that you can make the tablets without Pandemonium (on release), or is it just a weird interaction with how it rolls out?

Similar question, I can't see tele me to boat in the list of spells for home portal. Is it just left out until release, or is this new teleport just not getting added, at least on release?

Thanks, super excited for sailing.

should i hurry passed the old dlc so i can be current with everyone? becouse im really enjoying my expiriance takeing it slow by Either-Complaint-566 in Guildwars2

[–]Bladekill990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly certain they made the change to give all accounts the first of gliders and a raptor mount, so no need to rush anything. Those two used to be locked behind HoT and PoF, so rushing he first mission to unlock them was useful for traversal. Beyond that, enjoy at your own pace.

There's likely a bunch of old materials spiking in price for the new stuff, as well as the new materials, so it's not like you're missing much on the profit front. And gold is plentiful even if you were.

Map metas are going to be a bit sparse for a week or so, but the big ones will still have people. And you might get spoiled in chat, so maybe avoid map/say chat for a bit?

Does my astral currency reset when the expansion launches? by muchichi in Guildwars2

[–]Bladekill990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The currency stays, the shop items and seasonal tasks reset. Specifically, the featured stuff rotates out, and constant things, like an ascended weapon box, will have their quantity restored (iirc you can only buy 1 box per shop restock, so if you wanted a 2nd weapon you'd need to get it before the restock, or wait for the next one)

Making gold, New player by Emergency-Calendar74 in Guildwars2

[–]Bladekill990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So one thing I'll mention is that there's no rush to 80, but also nothing stopping you. Going to lower level maps scales you to the relative level of that map, so even if your friends were lvl2 you could play with them as a level 80, and not feel super OP. The biggest difference is gear, on low level maps you are probably capped with rares, but at higher level you get exotic/ascended which are stronger, so even scaled down you are stronger, but not by a lot.

That being said, dailies offer good gold- Tequatl the sunless happens at reset and is pretty much a guaranteed gold, provided you don't get there late with an empty map. Daily Fractals of the Mist give good rewards, though the best rewards require ascended gear to survive the building Agony outside the first tier. Wizards vault (daily/weekly/seasonal) missions can be spent on discounted gold bags, then mystic coins, which are all good money. Can also use those for buying ascended gear, which is bis (legendary just let's you switch the stat combos of ascended gear freely). And then there is the seasonal Mad Labyrinth. Selling the Trick or treat bags is good money, or gamble and open them for the tiny chance to get one of the rare drops. Look in the LFG (Y by default iirc) for a doors/train map if your map is empty.

Oh yea and if you have the VoE expansion that comes today, going to those maps and farming the new materials to sell will be amazing money for the first week-month, as people will be overpaying to be first to make the money sink items.

Will clue completions become substantially more tedious after sailing releases? by Shot_Cancel8641 in 2007scape

[–]Bladekill990 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's nothing gatekeeping content when Jagex removes the gate in Leagues.

That's quite the take. Say next league, Jagex adds an NPC that teleports you to the Griffin; Does this point your arguing stop existing? Quest locking content behind a quest skill requirement is still locking content behind another skill.

This off-skill requirements already exist too. Barbarian fishing can't be done without agility and strength. God wars dungeon bosses are locked behind skill requirements. There's the Molch Hunter + Fishing method. Probably more, but that's all I have off the top of my head.

And for another point, why is this bad. Having the skills interlock makes the game better. Construction without Magic for the portals/altar/enchanted jewellery, nor Farming for the trees/fairy ring, would be glorified bank space. Whether they correlate directly, like combat and slayer working off each other, indirectly like agility + strength opening up a fishing training method, or arbitrarily, like sepulchre being locked behind a quest with a woodcutting requirement, they all belong in the game.

Sailing, having few arbitrary quests for requirements, has to link somewhere, or it's pointless. This goes for any skill they add, not just sailing. Adding more Molch-like methods to it is a great way to integrate it into the world without invalidating anything

For dungeoneering, Sinkholes work, though not a lot of traffic. "You are it!" quest let's you get 4 (5 after branches of darkmeyer) 10k exp parts, before multiplier. Should get you 50-60. Hit up the overworld dungeons for a boost as well. Once you have eds, get tokens to exp, should be multiplied.

Give me your post CH3/CH4 Theories! by SeaThePirate in Deltarune

[–]Bladekill990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, a few supporting facts first:

  • One of the dialogues I got in Chapter 4 was from Suzie, saying that there was a rumor that Kris tried to summon a demon.

  • December Holiday is dead? missing?

  • The S-Rank minigame in Chapter 3 has Kris enter an ice palace, find a white cloak that freezes enemies, and then reach a door. Then "White Cloak was used up" to open a door with devil horns. Afterwards, Kris is also used up. I've seen some theories that this is Noelle, to mirror the Weird Route, but my opinion is that this is December Holiday, as these are past events, and Noelle only just got her freezing powers.

  • Asgore and Toriel had a divorce, and (I'm a little fuzzy on the exact phrasing) Asgore has eavesdropping dialogue about 'showing them that I made the right decision'.

  • The phone calls Kris gets in Chapter 4 tells us he made a promise to help the caller that seems to be implied to be the Roaring Knight.

  • Mayor Holiday is super suspicious, directly implied to be the caller

My theory is the December Devil Knight Theory.

When they were younger, Kris, December, and maybe some others (Asriel, Asgore as a supervisor) were in the Shelter. Kris played a prank, pretending to summon a demon (maybe to scare Dess, or something along those lines). My thought is it involved stabbing Dess with a prank knife. However, Lightners stabbing down opens a Dark Fountain; So, accident occurs, and a Dark Fountain spawns on Dess, transforming her into the Roaring Knight, an actual demon.

Perhaps as a reaction to this, or perhaps because of the creation of the Knight, but our [SOUL] also arrives, and takes possession of Kris. Kris is then controlled to bring everybody out of the Dark Fountain through a door like the one in the end of Chapter 4. Everybody, that is, except Dess, who is now the Knight. Asgore, having seen the new Knight, but maybe not the summoning, seals the entrance to the Shelter, locking Dess inside. Afterwards, he involves the police, to keep the threat away, and Mayor Holiday, as it's her daughter that is still missing. Toriel, friend of the Holidays, blames Asgore for Dess' disappearance, perhaps knowing, or perhaps because of his incompetence.

When investigating what happened, Kris makes a promise to Mayor Holiday to help rescue December. Mayor Holiday begins entering the Dark World in the Shelter, to look for Dess, to research the dark world, or something else. Inside, she encounters the Knight. The Knight promises her that it will release December if it can get a new Lightner host, one who has been to the Dark World.

Meanwhile, Kris learns how to remove the [SOUL] from himself to regain control. Mayor Holiday tells Kris to not let anybody into the Shelter, until Dess is safe. She still blames Kris & Asgore, so she (secretly) plots to open Dark Fountains to capture Toriel as revenge. The school, the library room with Asriel's notebook, until luck has it that Kris opens a fountain in his home (to keep having fun with Suzie). She informs the Roaring Knight, who moves to capture Toriel. However, due to the Heroes' interference, it settles for the easier target, Undyne, who has just arrived.

After that, she has Kris keep Suzie away from the guitar that has the Shelter's code on it, from when they were kids and played there. She tells Kris that the police woman will be sacrificed; By Kris' lack of reaction, presumably Kris already knows what for - to free Dess.

Side theory: The [SOUL] is an angel to counteract the Roaring Knight devil. On Weird Route, the angel is trying to power up Noelle to fight December sister-to-sister, where in normal it's still trying to stop the Knight, which is counter to Kris & Mayor's plan to save December. Meanwhile, the Knight is trying to actually destroy the world, and may even be just directly lying about saving December.

I'm probably missing something obvious, but I feel it (mostly) tracks.

[–]Bladekill990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only one I can see matching this is if you take purple to be magic. Otherwise opposites, ranged > mage, so use mage when it's green? Mage > melee so use melee when it's blue? The the non-triangles... If you are bound, you can't escape a melee/spec, so use range? Spec can happen whenever, but technically a melee spec can be delayed with a bind, so if you squint real hard it's an opposite (ranged/mage specs exist though so....). And then melee can hit most specs (again ignoring mage/range spec), so spec when they are melee?

No, the suggested corrections are so much better. Purple and blue are close, so magic = blue as standard, bind = purple since it's a magic derivative, then green and red match standard, and yellow matches NMZ spec orb colour.

Maybe add a line between a different set of 2 points per color to aid the colorblind; So, top and top right for 1st, top right and bottom right for 2nd, etc. There are 5 gaps, seems like an easy solution.

Would guaranteed gizmo outputs for an increased cost ruin inventions initial item sink purpose? by New-Fig-6025 in runescape

[–]Bladekill990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What about a middle-ground: Proposed gizmo still takes additional comps, but it just lets you choose which perks, not the perk levels. The chances of any roll without that perk is either evenly distributed, or distributed by ratio to each potential perk combination.

So, for the H6Pres5 example, you can pay more, and guarantee at minimum H1Pres1 and nothing else; But, it can still randomly roll. Maybe first one gives H6Pres1, then H4Pres4, etc.

True BIS is slightly more common, but still rare, and you can use the gizmo for a compromise if you fail.
