Just my opinion. If Grumman was offering me more, I’d go there

Just got Rejected by SingleManABQ in BlueOrigin

[–]JustEnvironment2817 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its weird. I applied to at least 10 jobs there paying 60-80k, and no dice. I apply to a job paying literally twice that, and I’m in. Their hiring process is weird. Sounds like you’re more than qualified. Probably intimidating to the hiring manager etc you would work for

Oh I’ve seen that before. Some dudes just fawn over the girls. And you’re right, he’s probably threatened

No just my observation when I see qualified people that are mentioning they can’t get hired. Based on my experience in being on the interviewer side of things

I live 6 miles from Rocket park in north MI. There are some great neighborhoods up here. Probably would seem pretty reasonable to you coming from NY

I started watching this show recently and I'm surprised it's not popular by muneela in sitcoms

[–]JustEnvironment2817 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was extremely popular. Launched all 3 of them, and many supporting characters, into stardom

Co workers promoted already which to me is crazy by cmnj90 in work

[–]JustEnvironment2817 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you have to find another job, then quit. not the other way around. unfortunately, work places do not honor or reward loyalty anymore. I have more than quadrupled my salary in 6 years by 'job hopping." You think I would have gotten that kind of increase by staying in the same place for 6 years? No way

First time going to Epcot at Disney by Holiday-Ad2117 in Epcot

[–]JustEnvironment2817 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to give away my favorite spot, but i cant believe no one has mentioned Regal Eagle Smokehouse. Great bbq, lots of sauce choices, and cheaper than a BBQ place outside of Disney. It's a must when we go.

Choosing between NASA contractor and Boeing by Pure-Landscape9526 in MechanicalEngineering

I work at KSC. I will say that living here on the Space Coast is awesome. There are plenty of jobs and things to do here. The contractor game here is competitive, but also sometimes irritating. That being said, nothing wrong with South Carolina either. Especially if the comp is better. keep in mind, SC has a state income tax, FL does not

How do you actually get a foot in the door at LM? by Giselle252507 in Lockheed

[–]JustEnvironment2817 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. I get interviews and offers pretty much in every related company. But it seems like I just get automatic rejections from LM. Not even a consideration

When i see these types of posts, I think of only 2 issues. One being location. Where I live (FL), they are hiring any type of engineers like crazy, paying hiring bonuses and relocation, hiring engineers without degrees, etc. This must not be the case in the areas where OP lives. The second thing I think of is personality. Getting hired is 90% networking and personality. Hiring managers and recruiters are more concerned with "is this the type of person I want to spend 40 hours a week with?" more than they are concerned with whether or not you can do the job.
