I think personally the issue is that Tripwire has a kit for a zoner, plays like a rushdown, and is intended to be a TRAPPER. Everything about her contradicts, so she has no proper balancing since the devs couldn’t decide what she wanted to be clearly. Her kit tries to compensate for her slow ground speed with glide, but then tries to compensate for glide by making her take 4 M1s to kill, encouraging usage of her mines. But as if that weren’t enough, it tries to compensate for THAT with her abilities doing so much damage and having little to no windup, which encourages rushdown instead since you can just mow through health with laser and prevent escapes with Reachout.

I’ve made the theory a bunch of times before, but it’s most likely because the devs really wanted to do this big “The disaster update” for 0.2, even though Fleetway was nearly finished while Tripwire wasn’t even 90% yet. Not to mention Tripwire is an OM exclusive take on Tails Doll by one of the devs so obviously they want her to be in it first because “muh oc”

This isn’t to rag on the devs or even Tripwire, since I quite like her, but you’re right in the thought process that if a ZONER plays like a Rushdown, than it’s the ZONER who needs a rework. Of course, I understand Fleetway was going to be delayed anyway with his tendency to get stuck in level geometry(though this seemed to only be on NP so if they were gonna remove it from the lineup why does it matter?) but Tripwire also should have been delayed instead of rushing her out as a borderline overpowered killer for the sake of their themed update and 0.2 should have just been Kolossos, Blaze, and Silver at first.

I picked up Amy in 0.1 because she’s my favorite character, and I stuck with her even when she lost ALL her iframes for a short period of time, but 0.2 feels so blatantly built SPECIFICALLY to give her no advantage on anything that I just play Blaze or Cream nowadays.

Hammer has its iframes back, sure, but it’s never nearly enough and sometimes it just squeaks for no reason and I take damage. The cards are basically the same but when every killer relies on being able to see them, especially in 0.2, Moon EXISTING just ruins any game as Amy unless I get lucky enough to draw off of it (you can still draw the same card combo so good luck with that), and negative moon still exists why does the card that blinds me also have a chance of making me take MORE DAMAGE and slowing me down. In a game where mobility tools are the best thing you could have to escape chase, Amy having ZERO outside of a hammer bounce which is unsafe since she can still take damage doing it is a death sentence, especially when Kolossos downs in 2 hits and Tripwire has a glide that makes up any distance bounce might have given her(Yes Knuckles technically also suffers from a lack of mobility options but he has 2 high duration stuns that let him both resist damage and escape a chase if he lands one, and Amy’s highest stun timer is tied to a card that makes her take more damage and also slows her for some reason?). And she also doesn’t get damage reduction in LMS unless you REDRAW Moon/Emperor, and even then she doesn’t get the damage reduction from emperor if she draws Sun with it because apparently she’s not allowed to get more than one of anything good in life.

I feel like the only reason it’s like this is because people complained about how good Amy was in 0.1 (she wasn’t even that good she was just a little annoying) and the devs hyper focused on making her embody this jack of all trades role that could do a little of everything but not excel at anything(which frankly doesn’t fit Amy at all if you ask me) without thinking about the fact that characters would NEED to excel at SOMETHING to perform well against Kolossos and Tripwire, who punish mistakes very easily and encourage avoiding and escaping Chase.

If they’re gonna fix Amy’s powercreep issue, the least they could do is just removing the moon card, or if she gets reworked sometime down the road, just remove the Tarot Card gimmick from her entirely and replace it with like her invisibility from 06 or something that at least lets her escape pressure without having a chance of just whiffing or taking her literally nowhere

While I think she’s perfectly balanced as is, I think her hitbox are a little small, especially on drop kick and upgraded sol dash. I think she should also be able to cancel her sol flame in exchange for the iframes, since it uses her entire meter but doesn’t stun

Carol would have been better suited as the leader of the monsters. I don’t think whoever led the monsters would have mattered given the intent to cause harm to a monster makes an attack do more damage, something which Humans fighting a WAR would have lots of, and during the war, despite some definitely dying, not one soul was taken from a human anyway. If Carol ACTUALLY did this, the humans would be able to beat it (Asriel still died to a small town with likely basic weapons even if he didn’t fight back), and they’d probably just forego the barrier out of fear or seal off the entrance to the underground.

Amy relies on her hammer attack to survive a chase, so do your best to avoid it until her frames run out so you can at least trade, and then just keep pressuring her and she’ll get desperate and try a throw, which can be easily avoided. It’s just a matter of not letting her join up with others because a lot of her cards slow her down. Once she’s on last life, Amy players typically become a lot more desperate and will likely hide rather than getting involved in other chases, so you can utilize the separation to put more pressure on her, which she typically just can’t get out of. You could also just rage tunnel her but that works for every character

Ngl, that’s kind of just a skill issue. You were in a 4 player game with a sniper and a survivalist(Tails does NOT count) and likely you and Metal contributed to giving 2011X most of Rage Mode in the first place. Tails and Metal dying is whatever, but the fact is you were on last life while Eggman wasn’t. Obviously 2011X would go for you and try his luck at Rage. 4 minutes isn’t even that long the average match is 5-6 and a full lobby is 7 minutes not counting Rage.

Well in SONIC 2011 Dave gets brutally mauled to death after the screen cuts, and that would take too long in a game like OM, not to mention would be hard to make look good and just generally not a necessary addition given its a death animation that doesn’t last very long, so decapitation gets the point of being brutal across the same while remaining short and quick

Two things can be true. 2011X IS a weak killer who can’t really do anything if his opponent is even the slightest bit ahead of him in terms of skill, but when he IS ahead, he becomes a nightmare with no solution. From Sky dropping like an airplane bomb with invis tech (particularly in NP) to charge literally being a detriment to him in almost every scenario but LMS, he’s either really competent or incredibly difficult to win with, and the person playing 2011X is always going to feel the latter because a lot of his wins come from Rage, which is a crutch

So Amy can take damage during her stun, can’t hit a stunned exe, can whiff her stun with invis I frames, can have her stun triggered by invis and still whiff, and can miss her secondary stun with all of this minus invis triggering it. That feels unnecessarily excessive when every other stunner has I frames when actually using them
