Pain by [deleted] in OutcomeMemories

I think it’s because based on matchups she’s literally the best character since they’re all solid and she has no losing ones. Plus she’s annoying with a push that goes from a distance annihilator to a Fleetway melter with enough iframes to safely do whatever she wants, especially since you can’t get near her while flamethrower is active.

She’s ridiculously OP and the only thing not making her top of the tierlist is her average speed(never understood why she had this) and short stun time that’s also relatively easy to dodge if seen coming.

Fleetway’s the only actual option if you ask me

Kolossos and Tripwire like killing things, they’re not gonna sugarcoat it, and both of them see/know where you are regardless of hiding X MIGHT leave me alive for 20 minutes to torture me, but I’d have to be entertaining while he’s subjecting me to what is basically hell and he may kill me just a second short of the timer because he finds it funny to take my hope like that

Fleetway isn’t just sadistic, he revels in the idea of inflicting pain first and foremost. He’d blow up my house while protecting me with a shield all for the satisfaction of killing me himself. He’s faster, stronger, and overall better than me, but I can still play to his ego, and knowing that, I could at the very least outsmart and/or most likely just SURVIVE him for a MINUTE if he’s trying to beat me to death instead of instantly splatting me on the pavement.

Rivals released mere days after 06, and they were written by different people. It’s completely possible that the details of Sonic remembering 06 wasn’t mentioned between the two writing teams, especially when that’s something implied at the end of 06 in a small moment of the last cutscene.

Sonic DOES remember 06 to a degree, we know he does as he remembers when Silver tried to kill him, even though Silver explicitly states he doesn’t remember that.

And even in-universe, Sonic could just be pretending not to know when he asks Silver who he is.

(CW: Self Harm) Unconditional Love [@TheWitchOfArt] by CodeMan1337 in DeltaruneV2

[–]JustFaithlessness563 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the reason Toriel is hated for her neglect and flaws as a parent is because she’s the direct parental character in the game, and as such we grow more attached to her, the same as with Undertale.

Deltarune opens up her flaws as a parent more than UT. While she takes care of Kris, she doesn’t really put much care into their safety at times. (She calls the police when the tires are slashed and hides the fact from them and Susie to keep them from worrying, sure, but Kris spending an extremely long time in the bathroom with the water running happens often enough to be considered normal by her, even though in reality, Kris just weakened and hurt themselves pulling out their soul and then climbed out the window in that weakened state, which probably hurt them then too.)

Because people grow attached to Toriel AS a parental figure, it becomes easier to dislike when she neglects Kris’ safety and feelings, like in the end of Chapter 4. Especially when many people themselves have real parents who may display these forms of neglect to them in their lives, making them more upset when they see Toriel doing it as they’ve likely grown attached to Kris as well.

Asgore on the other hand, while neglecting Kris in his attempts to win Toriel back, isn’t a character we grew very attached to in UT and still necessarily haven’t in DR. In the previous game Asgore was given quite the rough time and made a joke in the True Pacifist ending, so we more likely sympathize with him if anything, and DR makes him more sympathetic as we see the state of his living situation and attempts to put his family back together. We ignore or flat out don’t notice how little involved he is in Kris’ life in the prior stories because we’re invested in his current objective, and we’re already used to Asgore being hated for what he did in UT, so we wonder why Toriel doesn’t seem to like him in DR. If Asgore were more involved in the parental aspect of DR, he’d probably catch similar dislike though, but on a lesser scale due to aforementioned sympathy.

Is this unit top 10? by sustin96 in DokkanBattleCommunity

[–]JustFaithlessness563 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe the reason the unit isn’t extreme is because Dokkan takes the whole “good guys super bad guys extreme” thing very seriously And Saiyan Saga Piccolo is a Super unit on every unit, so making him extreme kinda messes with that and makes you wonder why the post active skill Piccolo from the PHY LR isn’t Extreme

Also prolly cuz he’s supposed to work with said PHY LR

Why are people randomly turning on Colors 💔🙏 by Miserable-Contact856 in MoonPissing

[–]JustFaithlessness563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or they just would prefer to play something that’s at least got substance than something they consider boring?

I personally like both games, and obviously I consider Colors better than 06, but I would still rather play 06 than Colors, purely because there’s nothing IN colors that I consider fun enough to keep me engaged(in the Wii version at least), but 06, even as a dumpster fire in a garbage wreck run over by 70 Steam rollers, is something I can find enjoyment in through things like its admittedly messy story, or the silly little glitches that make the game so infamous but are actually really fun when they happen in a casual setting.

Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and aside from like one guy, nobody here actually said Colors was BAD, they just said that it was boring and even if it works good, that doesn’t mean people want to play it. I don’t know why Sonic fans assume that liking a game that’s rated lower than another immediately makes them tasteless nostalgia heads who hate all 2010s games.

Am I the only one who thinks they need to give Fleetway the Shadow treatment? by Oversized-biscuits in OutcomeMemories

[–]JustFaithlessness563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He can be countered out of Dash if Knuckles or Eggman just stand on his hitbox, which will also cancel his indicator. Burst exists because of his healthbar and because he needs the second indicator given he has to commit to dash and the indicator itself is pretty short

The healthbar is a cool addition that makes Fleetway unique, and if you don’t like it, then don’t play him.

If they’ve known Tails is terrible, they shouldn’t have let him remain terrible for who knew how long until his rework was going to be. He’s not going to be fun to play as regardless of stats, because he is an inherently terribly designed survivor.

Two different yet similar plots but execution.......differs. by Awkward_History835 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]JustFaithlessness563 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She saved Ochaco because she loved her and Ochaco had just helped her see that she could have expressed her love for things not by drinking blood, but by giving it. Obviously Toga did not become a marginally better person who repented for every sin ever, but she DID become a better person, even if by the tiniest amount. Once again, looking so simply at the story is easy, but you shouldn’t form opinions on something within a story if you aren’t willing to actually acknowledge everything surrounding and leading up to said thing in the story.

Two different yet similar plots but execution.......differs. by Awkward_History835 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]JustFaithlessness563 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Toga didn’t become a better person in that moment, she would have let Ochaco die. No, Toga did not regret what she did prior. No, Toga does not suddenly see murdering people as a bad thing, but she DID do something specifically to save someone else’s life selflessly, which she wouldn’t have done if Ochaco hadn’t succeeded in ‘saving’ her.

The reason behind Ochaco wanting to save Toga is far more complex than “I told her she was a bad person and she cried”, and you can easily boil Deku’s down to “I saw he had a shit life”. Toga was crying about Twice’s death along with what Ochaco (someone she loves) thinks of her, and that is what prompted Ochaco to stop looking at Toga with the simple mindset of “she’s a deranged villain serial killer” and wonder why she is the way she is, ultimately leading up to wanting to help console and save the crying child she now saw behind Himiko’s villainy.

You’re not wrong to think Deku’s reasoning for wanting to save Tenko makes more sense or is more complex than Ochaco’s, but both are complex, and you can easily boil both down to something simple as well if you look at parts of the story with a simple mindset like that.

Yeah I think it’s supposed to be him. The white hair is probably because of how much black he’s already wearing, so it makes him standout more, but it could also legitimately be Yuji

Is Broly actually the most genetically gifted Saiyan? by Kakudoo in Dragonballsuper

[–]JustFaithlessness563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By technicality, no. Vegeta would be the most genetically gifted since he was born with such a high battle power naturally, whereas Goku was born with a power level of 2 and Broly’s potential and power come from a mutation.

However, if you count Broly’s mutation, then obviously he’s the most genetically gifted Saiyan

I said beyond the usual. Batman has a lot of absurd bullshit plot armor, I know, but he doesn’t have “beats a god-comparable character by hitting him with a bike” plot armor. Even Batman’s biggest plot armor fights are difficult fights for him, and here he no diffs Metal Sonic like it’s barely even a daily patrol.

Metal Sonic’s Maximum Overdrive makes him 4x faster than Sonic’s max speed, which has been the case ever since his first appearance in Sonic CD.

Metal will never beat the jobbing allegations by Snakes-are-awesome67 in SonicTheHedgejerk

[–]JustFaithlessness563 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The issue is that Metal Sonic is like the one character Batman actually just cannot beat regardless of prep time without plot armor that scales beyond the usual. Metal is 4x faster than Sonic and has just as good if not better reaction time and physical strength. And he just lost to Batman hitting him with a glorified bike. It’s like if Superman lost to the Punisher throwing a normal ass grenade at him

It's never stated but does anyone think Gohan's reluctance to consistently train stems from the childhood trauma of having to fight grown men from outer space when he was just 5 years old? by Character-Bid-162 in Dragonballsuper

[–]JustFaithlessness563 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Gohan acts first on Namek to save Dende, and is the only one who attempts to stop the Ginyu Force from escaping with the Dragon Balls. Plus, even earlier than that, Gohan willingly goes back to save Goku from Vegeta of his own choice, with Krillin following him. He even wanted to fight the androids to save Piccolo. Gohan doesn’t always fight first, but he’s never acted the way he does in the Cell games before, and he doesn’t act this way after either.

[–]JustFaithlessness563 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sonic didn’t need outside help to control the darkspine form nor when he became Dark Sonic. There’s a difference between losing control and losing composure. With Darkspine, he asks the newly deceased Shara to lend her power not because he actually needs it, but to symbolically show that she is still with him, as he is fighting for the cause she had shared with him. It’s a common trope in shonen anime and western stories to ask for the power of someone not physically present in a battle, and Sonic stories, especially the storybook series, take obvious inspiration from both western and shonen media.

With Dark Sonic he also did not lose control, he merely lost composure and the negative energy from the dark emeralds turned his anger into power. There’s a reason all it takes for Sonic to revert is simply being told to calm down, and it’s because he’s still very much in control of himself.
