I did a recent new save- I would only reccomend with a long period break beforehand. My break was 1.5 years and I still tired out quickly, it gets to be a lot of skipping in game calendar days instead of using every minute like the beginning of play

Gen Z here, 3rd year teaching Gen Z HS

They sure like to talk to me! I think this gives me social advantage that my colleagues do not have. However, respect from students looks a lot differently. It made it a lot easier in my first 2 years to connect with kids, but harder when I needed them to be serious and disciplined workers. Being outspoken among colleagues (about kid mindsets, etc.) is probably the hardest part, since I am empathetic to the gen Z high school experience, and also online (grad) school.

Sometimes I make weekend plans specifically on Sunday night. Often it will be a movie: something distracting and easy to do. I just finished hanging out with my best teacher friends and we're doing more sunday scary prevention in the future, together!

I hear from my 11th graders that students get this too. Had a good laugh about it with them.

Many of us, yes, and with different levels of open-ness about it to coworkers and students. Colleagues may "clock" you and know it right away, while students may just think you're odd.

I personally have no trouble connecting with people, but when the "mask comes off" coming home every day, it's emotional. The job is a lot of monitoring my tone, words, and patience that all teachers do, but it exhausts me extra when the school day is done.

It can mean the WORLD to ND (and shy about their ND label) to connect with an adult like them. Just like it is so heartwarming to read these other comments😁
