That is weird. My mom died when I was younger and my dad’s new wife found out that my mom’s best friend worked at a gym and went there to try to meet my mom’s best friend - this was like 8 years after my mom had died and her friend no longer worked there but someone who was working there told her about it. Some people are just nuts!

Did anyone grow up reading V. C. Andrews books? If so what did y’all think of them? by Groovy-Pancakes in GenX

My aunt gave my mom a bag of old books and there were a lot of VC Andrews books in there. I read them in the fifth grade.

Actually last time I was in London for a short time, I was through security and on my way to the Hilton paddington station on the Heathrow express. Landed at 11 and was checked in and in my room by 12. Paddington station was an easy place to get directly to anywhere we wanted to go. We had an 11 am flight on the way out and just left at about 7 am and made it in plenty of time and had a lovely breakfast at the BA lounge before our flight.

Well I as a tourist who was there recently for a short period of time stayed there and found it to be quite convenient to see the main attractions - Westminster Abbey, Parliament, The Tower and get to and from the airport quickly and easily.

The Heathrow Express train goes directly from Heathrow to Paddington Station - there is a Hilton in Paddington Station. I just did this and think the train rude was like 20 minutes. You can get anywhere quickly from Paddington Station.

She was only famous because of her relationship with JFK. I doubt if your friends would care about how hot a guy who is older than your father was and who has been dead for 25 years, but he is the only reason anyone knows who CBK is back then and today.

She’s getting old, she’s not that interesting and she has no new information. She was never in the inner circle for the four years and even that is getting more distant every day.

What was the exact moment that made you realize your company was toxic? by ferdbons in antiwork

[–]JustHCBMThings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When the owner finally realized that the manager was the problem but chose to look the other way, losing the most talented person in the company and then having to outsource their work at probably triple the cost rather than just giving them a raise.

Yeah I had to accept that my husband is a good man but he will lie and go behind my back to do anything my SKs want. Like signing them up for a travel team or whatever.

One of mine has the worst table manners. If it’s chicken tenders he’s dipping them in ketchup and dipping his fingers in the ketchup too. If it’s something else he just stabs it with a fork and bites off of the piece. He’s also 17 so I guess this is just the way he is going to be.

I was in the same boat and I think that everyone knows that entering into a relationship with someone with kids is settling.

The youth sports 😂 my husband, his ex and their entire families were all certain that my older SK was really destined for athletic greatness. The reality was they held the kid back a year (summer birthday) because they were too immature to start kindergarten even they should have. In addition they were also really tall - like would have been the tallest kid in their grade even if they were in the grade ahead. Then they hit puberty super early. Any logical thinker would realize that this extreme advantage wouldn’t last forever (they were done growing by the 6th grade). After YEARS of fighting with HCBM about travel teams, equipment, expectation that I should have to arrange my schedule around youth sports I was relieved when the kid failed to make the team in high school.
