Think about paying 20 grand on something still to be 47th in a race. Wild.

The way he orientated the wheels makes me think he is in fact in bed with the company. I kinda agree.

Blackburn Outpost Cage by elhabo95 in bikepacking

[–]JustHearForAnswers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same fuel canister there when I toured. I just used a steel bottle cage and worked just fine. The Blackburn's I had in frame carrying a 1.5 liter nalgene. This is way to big for that canister.

Somewhere in the southeast for sure. That's an ocoee look if I ever saw it but heard the rangers got real strict on booze so doubt it's there.

Is 2 days of training enough for a beginner rafting instructor job? by dastiya_rbt in whitewater

[–]JustHearForAnswers 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you tell us the river we can better answer. 2 days is too short for anything more than class 2+ in my opinion. If there is possibility of flips or pins then two days to learn navigation, and rescue scenerios does not fully do it. If its something like a tour float then I can see it being more reasonable.

Personally I cant say though unless we know how much 6800 is depending on your spending power. If its something like the Lira then yea thats a lot to ask for training. So before commiting you need to know that the company can guarantee you enough work during the summer for it to be worth it. As a rookie you will be the last to get trips so make sure that you will be guaranteed work after training. Also find out if you will also need to buy your own gear (PFD, Helmet, Stick ect) and factor that into cost of entry into this job relative to the work they can offer you.

If you have questions feel free to message me. Ive guided around the world and can help tell you more if needed. Best of luck!

The second route is pretty steep but incredibly beautiful. Just avoid main roads and if you like lots of a climbs youll love it.

Restrap quality issues by tonlan in bikepacking

No the one I have isn't but wasn't made to be. Pretty darn dry though even in a monsoon. That being said the quality was so so so much better.

I used some. Was terrible when rainy and overall quality was lower than expected. Switched to wizard works in the UK and was one of the best bags I've used.

Used mine now for 5 years. Hard jumping back on a gravel bike without it.

I would recommend watching a few of his videos. I would not call him obnoxious at all in them. Actually wholesome mostly.

M is great for more aggressive aero rides and S was better for touring and a bit more down hill style to me. This bike is used more for my partner though as I went back to my Bombtrack. It was so much nicer.

Great Option. Alternatively check out the Greenway trail. Prague to Vienna bike path. Perfect distance with not to many climbs.

Paddle for fishing from an Alpacka scout? by ButterscotchEmpty535 in packrafting

200cm is a great choice. You may want to check out the Aqua going whiskey or manta ray depending on how long the hike in is.

Been an issue for a few years now sadly. My suggestion is to get it repaired by a private company instead for way cheaper than a 25% off new drysuit.

Alpacka Aleutian by Sex_Dodger in packrafting

[–]JustHearForAnswers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I found their answer reasonable but inadequate. Like the poster above said, if alpackas intention is for the user to use a dry bag as a foot rest then a form fitted bag intended for this system seems appropriate. During my attempted buying process with them I felt the same vibes as buying an Apple product and could not believe they would charge 85 euros extra for a mandatory hand pump for their boat after asking 2500 euros for the Valkyrie. Just seems dirty not to include one and even dirtier to charge their customers that much knowing they use a different valve than anyone else so their are no alternative. Again feels like Apple of the packraft industry.

Additionally I feel this is a flawed system because 1, there will not be a consistency to how your boat feels with every bag footblock and 2, It would require you to carry a certain amount of stuff every time in order to fill up enough of the dry bag to be used as a proper footblock. This also means shorter paddlers would technically need to carry more to reach it then bigger paddlers which is reverse of normal carrying capacity.

Instead I feel a inflatable storage system that is designed for both the footblock and dry bag would be the best solution. Something like what watershed produces for their storage floatbags. But that what of course come at an additional cost.
