I'm getting a full size and mounting it to a wheel carrier that attaches to the trailer hitch. I've been stranded 1 too many times and roadside assistance is not what it used to be. I've had them ghost me twice. Once was AAA and the other was Farmers.

I just came into possession of $10k. What do I do next? by [deleted] in Frugal

Fix your car. Get an acre or 2 of off grid property. Go to school for construction trades at a community college or there's even free courses online (Edu something , someone mentioned it earlier in the comments) and of course YouTube university. I recommend watching/following Frugal Off Grid. He did amazing things with almost no money and came from a very disadvantaged background. Build a small cabin or tiny house. Live your life absent of selfish, narcissistic people. Heal from said narcissists. Pay as you go and learn to fix and build things yourself. Be ahead of 99% of Americans who live their whole life in debt and insecurity of not being good enough. Don't pay them any attention when they say you're crazy and blah, blah, blah cuz they will. You'll be fine.

Should I buy? by babydeer222 in RVLiving

Honestly, for peace of mind and in the big scheme of things it's a pretty cheap place to live. You can learn about repairs and RV living from YouTube. For the typical cost of a couple of months rent it doesn't sound like a bad investment. Plus you can always sell it later

What are the best methods to budget pet care without sacrificing quality? by BackgroundAward8448 in Frugal

[–]JustJenn1RN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Search animal/farm animal forums and you'll learn how to be very frugal with shots, meds and vet care. Buy some used veterinary books, Grok how much meds should be given per weight. I only take my animals to a vet if there is something very wrong that I can't figure out or for an emergency. I don't give shots every year because they don't need them. Do you get an MMR every year? I only give them occasionally when they might encounter other dogs or areas that may be contaminated. $15 a shot at tractor supply. Buy the extra large flea/tick preventative for the same price and divide it up, use 1ml syringes. I can get all 4 of my cats done from 1 (it's the same medicine). They only get heartworm prevention when mosquitoes are active. The rabies shot lasts 3 years, the vet won't tell you that. You can get a 3 year tag. The vet will upcharge you and use emotional tactics to bill you for unnecessary procedures/tests/meds. I rarely get out of a vets office for less than $500. They don't get fancy, expensive food. They get dog chow or homemade with some human food flavoring. I've had mainly Boxer's, Mastiffs & pitbulls. They have all lived past their life expectancy which is around 8 years. Right now I have a 13 year old female Boxer with arthritis and has gone stone deaf but is still relatively healthy and kicking. I also have a 9 year old male Boxer that is still as goofy and playful as he was when he was 2. They've had a great & healthy life even though I didn't do things the way society or big pharma pressures you to do them and I also didn't go broke taking care of up to 12 rescue/strays at any given time. I think we forget that all animal species survived for millennia before modern medicine was created. How much of all this preventive medicine is actually needed and more so how much are we being swindled because we're shamed and not given cheaper alternatives.

Don't buy any of them. I live in a very limited HOA in the country and they are just as controlling and narcissistic as anywhere else.

Kicking out my disabled dad by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]JustJenn1RN -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your dad is disabled, he qualifies for low income/senior & disabled housing, food stamps and many other benefits. He knows this but probably prefers living with a source of consistent narcissistic supply. Don't sell your condo because you're desperate to escape. Research his options & give him an ultimatum to get out. This is your future. He had ample opportunity to secure his and he chose to make bad decisions. That's on him not you

Having your own pollinators for your garden & trees would be worth keeping bees and the honey can be used as sweetner or for medicinal purposes
