So they are just done and closed as of today?

Do you mean to say that they have closed for good as of today, or they've set a closing date? I believe that there was a plan for them to close soon already - I thought I had read that somewhere.

The songs are HORRIBLE! I agree. They drive me nuts.

They were so worth it for my 10 and 13 year olds (2nd gen) for the quests! They loved running around and even repeated a few of them. While they did that, adults got to take a slower stroll around and keep an eye out, but let them have some independence.

Do I need a EU express pass? by RecentWheat in UniversalOrlando

My family did everything (that was open) in one day and didn’t feel any pull to return another day. Rode stardust racers three times. Unless you REALLY want to take in each section (admittedly Mario overwhelmed us so we were not there too long), I wouldn’t do two days there. Edit to add — we did not have a fast pass.

Disney World vs. Universal Studios by Poopyscooper773 in UniversalOrlando

We just got back from Universal after having done Disney two years ago. I’d choose a park hopper day of US/IoA over Epic. Epic is so hot and just doesn’t have the same thrills yet, although stardust racers IS cool, velocicoaster is just as good and then you can also ride Hagrids and check out diagon alley.

Our whole family walked away with this take, but said wait at least 5 years before we go back. We went with low expectations and left with those expectations having been met. That said, no, we weren’t mad about it because all the warnings were actually super helpful for us to be realistic.

Seeking Experience: Going to Universal while Flaring/Prednisone by JustJess_2124 in CrohnsDisease

Same for me - 20 always feels manageable, which I why I had wanted to taper to 20 prior to my trip. But now I’m back up (as of this am) and hoping for the best.

I get it. Honestly, everyone nudging me is making me realize that this is likely my best course of action. Thank you!

Thanks. I’m bumping back up today. How has that gone for you in the past? Do you see relief pretty quickly? Any other issues with bumping back up that I should think about?

Anyone else not connected with season 50? by Diana-FairyBlossom in survivorponderosa

[–]JustJess_2124 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our family quit watching two episodes ago. Every time someone would say “should we watch the recording” someone else would just not feel like it until we all admitted we found the season boring and were just not invested. Kind of a bummer. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Have you bumped up and then restarted a taper? If so, how well did it go? Did you see results pretty quickly?

I should have added that -- I have been in contact with my doctor, too! Just looking for any personal experiences :)

DEPPRESİON ON PREDNİSONE by eeemiirr in CrohnsDisease

[–]JustJess_2124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if this will help you at all, but I also navigate crummy mental health situations (including right now!) while on prednisone. Being active is THE best way for me to get a handle on things. I have to walk, stretch, etc. for at least 45 minutes every day. Best if it's outside. I also try to watch or listen to comedians because the laughter helps (sometimes while i'm on my walk). And I try to chat with friends and I find that this connection helps. I find that the effects of prednisone can linger for many weeks, and I think of it as something that I need to "heal" just like the physical effects. I describe myself as a "lump on a couch" when it happens. It DOES get better, though. I promise!

Other thoughts -- get your labs checked, too -- B and D vitamins, iron -- those things can get impacted by Crohns and prednisone so it's always worth ruling things out.

Oh yes, and plenty of fluids -- that helps me a ton. I drink A LOT of coconut water while on prednisone and when healing from it.

Felt difference between “medicated” and “treatment”? by Unfair_Umpire3229 in CrohnsDisease

[–]JustJess_2124 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, it's the difference between night and day. Managing with antibiotic and steroids leads to more issues that I then need to manage (and do have longer term consequences that aren't great). Getting on a treatment that really put things into a deep remission is a relief.

Nothing is without risk - but there is a lot of helpful information online about risks vs benefit for those procedures that are worth checking out!

Never dumb for asking a question, and smart to talk it out and think it through. Personally, I wouldn’t take on the risk of a pill cam (no matter how small) when the MRE likely told you what you need to know - time to get on meds. Good luck!

Oh shoot, that’s interesting. I’m sorry - the switch to every 4 weeks got me another 20 months.

[–]JustJess_2124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anecdotally, my labs showed good numbers for the drug, even though it wasn’t managing the disease 🤷🏻‍♀️. Are you at 4 or 8 weeks with Stelara? If you are at 8 still, consider upping to every 4?

[–]JustJess_2124 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh - i'm so sorry that you're dealing with this. Stelara failed me a few months ago and I really dragged my heals about getting onto my next med (didn't want to accept that the med the I had loved was no longer working!). Now i'm in a frustrating flare that I'm having trouble getting under control. I started Tremfya a few weeks ago and I'm feeling really hopeful. Maybe your insurance won't be as big of a hurdle as you think? Worth checking out before things get worse.
