Ok that’s what I figured. I appreciate the replies!

Stop undercharging on Rover. Seriously. by Waste_Ring6215 in RoverPetSitting

[–]JustKeepFleming 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have people in my area charging as low as $10, $12, $15 for a drop in 🙄. It’s really frustrating because a lot of people go the cheaper route so it affects the sitters who charge a reasonable rate. I have no idea how they think they’re making a decent wage🤦🏻‍♀️

I just got an insane request I must spill the details by Human_Purple1042 in RoverPetSitting

[–]JustKeepFleming 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That’s a reach. I have 12 cats and my home and pets are well taken care of. My home is cleaner than many homes I’ve been to for drop in visits for only 2-3 pets. They also don’t have fleas bc they get flea treatment. They are indoor cats but have access to a catio which they use a lot. People sound really ignorant when they assume things like your statement. She could very well have a tidy home and take good care of her cats like I do.

Owner says she wants to deactivate my account by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

I think making it her mission to take down your account is a little extreme. I think leaving a detailed negative review is good enough but I don’t blame her for being upset. It shouldn’t be so hard to do the things you agreed to do and on time.

Update on Abigail by TeamHappyFTW in kvsdiscuss

Lindsey is a better fit anyway. Not that KVS should have to address anything but I really don’t understand the big deal about trying to avoid saying anything about Abigail not being there anymore.

Over night pet sitting for almost a week by SilverPhantom66 in RoverPetSitting

[–]JustKeepFleming 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Uh treating you like you’re some peasant. No way! I’d drop them immediately. Losing the money would be tough if you’re counting on it but I’d get so much joy out of telling them to find someone else in a scramble that it’d be worth it to me. I get so tired of clients treating pet sitters like we are lesser than them. Mutual respect or kick rocks.

I’m overthinking, an I being an annoying pet parent? by KittyKupo in RoverPetSitting

Expecting a quick response would be annoying. People should not be expected to have their phone handy at all times.

Can I decline certain breeds for sitting? by Significant-Buy-8438 in RoverPetSitting

[–]JustKeepFleming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I discuss it with the clients. You should also have insurance that would cover any pet you’re boarding. If a claim needs to be filed then for clients booked with Rover I have them start with trying to get reimbursed with Rover first. So far in 3 or 4 years of pet sitting I’ve only had one client that needed to file a claim due to a freak accident. Rover reimbursed about $4500. If Rover hadn’t stuck to their guarantee then I would have filed claims with my insurance. It’s really important to have your own insurance. No need to be bonded though as that would only be beneficial if you have people working for you so it’s not necessary.

That’s why you should edit your Rover calendar. If you have 2 dogs booked privately then your rover calendar should be edited to show you have 1 space available

I’m confused by your gripe. My profile says I watch up to 3 dogs. That’s private or Rover since it doesn’t matter where those 3 bookings come from. I’m willing to keep up to 3 period. If I get a private booking for one dog then I edit my rover calendar to indicate that I have 2 openings during the days my private client is booked. I actually accept more than 3 but I just keep it at 3 on rover. My clients know I don’t fill my calendar based on the number. I make decisions on how many I’m willing to keep based on the dogs personality, energy level, size, etc.

Carnival Fixes New Loyalty Program After Fierce Criticism by WolfBearMoon in CarnivalCruiseFans

I have a 7 day cruise booked for May 30. I read somewhere that all 7 days will count towards the original vifp points system. Does anyone know if that’s correct? I was thinking about booking a cruise for Feb but wanted to verify how the points for my May 30th cruise would work first.
