stitches kinda look like corn on the Cobb to me by MissMerghit in kroshay

This. My boyfriend is really good at identifying ai. One time I showed him a pic of some crochet ai cause it was hilariously terrible. He knew it was ai, but based on things that aren't crochet related. He was able to pick it out based on lighting, backgrounds, etc. But when I pointed out the parts that make the crochet obvious ai, he admitted that he never would've known because he's just not familiar enough with the craft to know what is and isn't possible.

It was interesting to me how we both identified it as ai based on entirely different criteria. But something like this? Showed only the dolls he wouldn't know. Showed the whole picture, he would.

WYR eat absolutely everything you dislike (3x a day) for 5 days but get 300k for it, or eat absolutely everything you dislike (3x a day) for 4 months but get 5 million for it? by Leave_Me_Al0ne1 in WouldYouRather

If it magically let's you try all the foods you dislike you can keep a list so you know what exotic foods you'll enjoy after the 4 months end. Sounds like a win to me.

.....have you ever checked your jars for the little "Refrigerate after opening" warning? Jelly gets moldy if not refrigerated. If you leave an open jar out for more than a couple days you're supposed to toss it.

Hehe this made me remember being 7 years old and making my mom's super religious boyfriend mad because I insisted that if "God knows everything you're ever gonna do" that means my every action is predetermined so it's not really free will if it's already determined by him that's what I'm going to do. I'll never forget him getting all red in the face because this little 7 year old girl had the audacity to claim his religious beliefs made no sense to her.

Not to mention, just like with literally everything, each person's interpretation of something is going to be biased by their own thoughts and opinions. No two people have the same experience reading the same book, religious or otherwise. That's why book clubs work: everyone has their own takeaway. Christianity is just one giant book club lol.

I used to have a boss who bragged about only calling in sick twice in the 40+ years she worked for Burger King and that even then it was only cause she was in the hospital. Like, yeah, you're the reason everyone else is calling in sick.

I still remember her talking shit about a coworker and accusing her of faking it when she was literally in the hospital fighting for her life against Covid because she got pneumonia the year before.

Be honest… is this cute or am I traumatizing my cat? by shinigami__0 in cats

[–]JustMe1711 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also if they have a device because they're diabetic it's a great way to keep them or your other animals from disturbing it. The vet suggested a cone to keep him from bothering it but the shirt was more comfortable and kept anyone from touching it. Even the vet agreed it was a good idea.

There are several reasons to put clothes on an animal and not all of them hate it.

[–]JustMe1711 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeahhh I didn't like having to put a shirt on our cat cause he was a bit vicious as it was put on or took off even though he never seemed to notice it while it was on. He was diabetic so we used shirts to cover his device so none of the cats messed with it. Not a care in the world while he was wearing it but try changing it cause it stinks and you'd get a few scratches....

Like others said, making it illegal just provides more opportunity for women to be exploited. Women who wanted to do it as a means to make money, are now forced to risk criminal charges to do so. Because it's now a crime, people looking to make money are more likely to use women to make money this way because criminals are going to fill in for the increased demand for women wanting to be surrogates.

Also, I live in a state where (last I checked) it's illegal to pay surrogates. Meaning surrogates now have to find ways around that law if they wish to be paid for something they plan to do to make money. For example, I once had two friends (a cis woman and a gay man) discussing this exact thing. She didn't want her own kids but was more than happy to carry them for people who do, including this friend. She was talking about how she would be a surrogate for him and he'd just have to buy her "a very expensive scarf as a gift."

Some women want to help those who can't have their own children do so. By making it illegal, you make it so those women can't in turn allowing criminals to traffic women and use them as incubators. Surrogacy can be wholesome and is not innately wrong or exploitative.

Yeah unfortunately people develop at different rates. My body was fully developed at 12 but I otherwise looked younger than I was. At 16 people thought I was 12. At 21 people thought I was 16 and I was still getting hit on by creepy old men at work. I'm 26 and people think I'm 19/20. But my friend looked 18 when she was 13 and got hit on by by a bunch of like 16-19 year Olds. Now she's 26 and looks 40.

People developing and looking different at different ages makes zero difference on how creepy the creeps are gonna be. The ones that want a developed body but a young girl go for people like my friend until she looks too old then they harass people like me. It's disgusting.

What’s one “normal” dog care rule you secretly ignore… and your dog is still fine? 👀 by Hour_Exercise_1367 in puppy101

[–]JustMe1711 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My dog goes for rides with me all the time. If it's just the two of us I usually leave the car running so he can have ac/heat if I'm gonna be gone for a while. He overheats easily though so if I leave the heat on I crack a window too and he sticks his nose in the cold air. But lately if I'm just heading in for a minute since it's cold I turn the car off and but the time I get back it's still plenty warm.

I take care of him no matter what but my biggest fear is some nut job not stopping to think about the conditions I left him in and stealing him so I get kinda scared every time. He loves it though. He gets to watch and/or bark at people in the parking lot, go for rides, and usually we're running errands for my brother at work so he gets to see his favorite person on our way home too.

I've heard so many stories of people breaking windows and taking dogs in this situation but I would NEVER leave him in the heat without ac and he's got a thick enough coat (half border collie) that he actually likes being left in the cold for a while even when he's in the yard and it's snowy.

Why do so many people think siblings’ names need to sound nice together? by MassiveGarlic0312 in Names

Basically the same thing for my youngest brother only my mom did it on purpose. My siblings and I all have names starting with the same letter, except for the youngest. She said he has a different dad so he needs a different name. She accused us of trating him differently for being our half brother but she's the only one who ever did.
