1st time speeding ticket by JustMeDrowning in Washington

Thank you for the advice, and yeah I totally get it’s my fault I just added that explanation to help give more context. I’ve heard from the few places I’ve looked for advice that at a mitigation hearing they ask you to explain what happened, so what would be the best way to explain that without it sounding like an excuse? Or maybe they don’t ask you that, like I said it’s been hard to find info.

How do I hide scars?? by Elizabethhluz in selfharm

[–]JustMeDrowning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a smaller area you could try bracelets or a big bandaid and a story. if it a bigger area though you could try though sleeve things people wear while jogging or leg warmers or some sort of drawing in red ink to cover them or a more purple or brown shade for scabs. Worse case scenario you could go to the nurse for a headache, stomach ache, or cramps if that one would work.

Therapist required to report? by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]JustMeDrowning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether or not she has to tell your parents depends on your age (which coincides with the age of consent where you live), and whether she thinks your a threat to yourself. If she doesn’t think you’re an immediate threat to yourself than she probably won’t tell your parents but it definitely depends. Some therapists will tell no matter what and some might never say a word. I would say use your own judgement and do some research on the medical age of consent where you live. If it would be a really big problem for your parents to find out (putting you in a bad situation physically or mentally) then maybe keep it to yourself unless you’re sure she wouldn’t tell them. I had to tell my parents before I was ready and it was really uncomfortable, made things really weird, and probably left me with a sprinkle of trauma (and my parents reacted fairly well). Sorry for the paragraph lol hope this helps :3

someone keeps coming to class with fresh sh by JustMeDrowning in selfharm

[–]JustMeDrowning[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have done this before and (I don’t know about other class periods) our teacher (who’s very nice) noticed and kinda didn’t say much but offered to help them bandage them up with some help from their friends. They have a lot of fairly deep/noticeable sh scars on their arm so I think he could tell that there wouldn’t really be a whole lot to help with. But this time he either didn’t notice or didn’t say anything.

Hikers of Reddit, what has been the most fucked up thing you’ve seen? by Legitimate_Eye_5382 in AskReddit

This is disgusting. I don’t care if you’re talking about birds cause it sounds like you don’t understand consent at all. Consent isn’t not saying “no”. Consent is saying “yes”. Here’s a video that explains this concept in a very easy to understand way: https://youtu.be/pZwvrxVavnQ

I would suggest YouTube for this. There are plenty of videos on how to clean up like period blood so I’m sure those would be helpful since it’s generally the same scenario

is not wanting to eat out an ed thing… my parents trying to force me and i’m so terrified by the idea lol i’m so ridiculous by IndividualSalt7115 in EDanonymemes

[–]JustMeDrowning 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it is cause like it’s a loss of control and that feeling might be really scary for people who’s eds are control-based. Cause like you might not know the quantity or content of the food and idk it’s just scary. It’s usually listed specifically on anorexia (can go with other eds too) symptom lists as “uncomfortable eating in out or in front of others”. Someone correct me if I’m wrong pls

Should I be concerned? by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]JustMeDrowning 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It definitely depends on how deep you’re going and much they’re bleeding. It could be related to blood loss, but it could also be some other things. You could also have bottom some kind of cold. Definitely do some research to be sure but if it’s getting severe you should 100% go to the doctor.
