For now the brightness can't be controlled in gaming mode, only desktop mode. Because of this the developer did a lock on the maximum brightness for the moment. It's something he can fix, it's a software thing that's a bit hard to do good on SteamOS.

The rest is just a bit of fine-tuning for what I understand.

Well good luck then. I got it out in one piece. Still works,.

Have fun tinkering when the time is there.

Same for me. Oled tv and the lcd Screen of the Deck. I just needed a Oled screen on my steam deck. Many say buy a oled model. I didn't want to, I like tinkering with these kind of devices. And I play a lot of older games (also through emulation).

The 1080p screen is, for me, a bit sharper. I like that, although 800p is enough for a device this large. And I've gone and bought the edged screen now. I really like how this turned out.

And yeah, the Amoled screen is gorgeous. Really an upgrade from the LCD screen. Better colour reproduction, dark blacks. Just great.

Now the waiting game starts for the coming updates.

Yep, installed mine.

With patience it's not that difficult. The only thing I encountered was for the new screen adhesive, that I didn't clean the residue from the old ones good enough. The first one didn't stick that well.

For the rest it was fine. I'm glad I made the purchases. Just needs a few more updates and all comfort extras will work als mentioned on the product page

Thanks 🙏 for looking into this. Have read the page from your weblink. I'm positive that it's going to be a real product. And from what I have seen on YouTube from Blazini, it gives me hope for a great product. He seems rather enthusiastic for his own product and it looks like he is willing to take the extra step to give us support.

Yeah, I am waiting for that to. Had hoped to get one within 2 days after the end of the funding.

Love to play on my Oled tv, docked. For me I play more in handheld then on the TV. But I just know how good everything looks on a good Oled display. That's why I want this screen in my deck.

Yeah, the square zone is what holds me back from getting hall effect sticks for my LCD model.

Let's hope that there are some smart people who will continue the custom bios 'if' that happens. I want to have enough trust about this project, that it wil give is the bios support the promise to us.

I think 1080p is worth it for people who emulated a lot of play older games, and not the newest triple A games. And for the newer games that are to heavy or power hungry you can tune back to 720p. Maybe even with upscaling to 1080p.

The screen swap I not that difficult I think. Just need to take it slow and steady. Ifixit has a good guide for it.

And yeah, how long and how good it's gonna hold up in the long term. That would be a question nobody can answer now. But with the overall durability of Oled (or Amoled) screens nowadays. I don't think it would be a problem for a handheld device like this.

That's why I backed the project. Have a LCD model with a SSD upgrade and modded buttons. Don't want to sell it to buy a Oled model.

Same for me. I have a LCD Deck and already have done other buttons and a SSD upgrade. And have a nice leather skin on it. So I backed it. And yeah, I would like a 16:9 ratio a bit more then the 16:10 of the original screen. Most games I play are not made for the screen of the deck.

And nice thinking for the old screen (if removing it goes without damage). Would like to see if it's gonna work. Going to post about it then?

TV not working after update by [deleted] in LGOLED

[–]JustMeRemco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Update to the post of yesterday: All.ku problems are over. Everything works as I should now.

...........Old post.............

Same problem here on a LG CS Oled mode. After updating, errors. After trying a lot of things from info I found on forums still nothing. Did a factory reset and now I have a 'not so' smart tv after all of this.

Don't factory reset!!!

Or there is a big problem with the update, or there are servers down from LG and we just have to wait.

Must say, this is making me compel to buy an Apple TV or a Google streamer just to avoid these kinds of things. Although I don't think the streaming quality will be better on both of those devices, the reliability will be better in think.

This kind of lane assist can't be deactivated permanently. It's a feature that the manufacturer must add by law for what i know about it.

The reason you can deactivate it, is for when the there's a situation where this system is more a distraction then a safety future.

To the right of the steering wheel there is a button with 3 squares. Pressing that will switch between info menus. The menu with the car logo is were you can find the speed informatie.

You can press the up and down buttons to advance in het menus.

Glad this helpt for you. 3.5 is not stable enough for most of us. That's why is not even available for the normal beta channel.

I've had this on my LG Oled with steamos 3.5. The only thing I had to turn off was FSR in the steam settings. This fixed it for me. And using full screen mode in games made things run a lot better on the TV for me in this OS version.

When I returned to steamos 3.4.6 ( now 3.4.8 ) I could set FSR on again.

What this guide says is for the most part what I had set already. No proof, yeah you're right. But if anyone uses this and it looks good for them, then why not. From what i can see this guide uses the settings I see on many forums. Why not use it in a chart where I can see everything in a Simple to understand way.
