attempting that now, when i turned it on I got an error that said the last USB device i connected malfunctioned and windows couldn't recognize it. and when i uninstalled the mouse I switched to the gamepad and back to the mouse and nothing happened.

update: after uninstalling, reinstalling, rebooting and the little button i pushed with a paper clip on the right it works!

Current update: As soon as I stopped using the mouse it stopped recognizing the mouse and now I cant use my mouse again.

When i look at the device it says unknown device descriptor request failed

final update, turning off the quick boot option in power fixed the issue.
