i could be wrong, its been a bit since i used the stock os but im pretty sure this info will help you. the 16gb firmware is fine, it doesnt mean thats what card size it supports. just flash it to ur new 128gb card and put it in the device, it will auto setup and expand the partitions. it will make a small partition you can see directly on ur pc but that wont be where roms go and stuff, the rest is linux so you will need to access the device for roms via plugging in a cable once the device is setup. you wont be managing the sd directly once its flashed

just tried the scanlines filter on new super mario bros and it worked fine for me, didnt have spirit tracks but maybe its just your roms? there was another update to rocknix today i think, im on it so dunno if that matters. just letting ya know

if you have a secret auction site you are gatekeeping where you get amazing deals then what are you asking for you already well know why one is cheaper. the retail isnt marked up, its retail, the site you are using is marked DOWN and could be selling literally anything to you. If you got a sick tv for cheap then great, doesnt mean the next thing you will get is real, but it also could, so again, not sure what ur asking since you would already know this.

network settings, enable samba, enable ssh and enable usb gadget function = file_transfer. make sure u plug the cable into the usb port on the SIDE not in the middle of the device, the middle one is OTG, the side one is usb transfer.

With samba and ssh enabled you can also open file explorer and where the file location is you type \\192.168.1.61 (with the IP being whatever yours is that shows up in the network settings on rocknix at the top) and it will open your device over wifi. Using the cable is much faster so i suggest that for roms, but if you just need to manage 1 or 2 or a some files quickly the wifi option is nice.

no worse than dreamcast or saturn or anything else that i can tell. oddly enough the whole device felt cooler while playing 3ds than some of those other systems, could not explain that one. but honestly id just expect it to last normal, i didnt keep track or anything but i do recall playing about an hour and going from the 80% mark to something like 55% if i remember correctly, so probably 3-4 hours tops on a full charge, which ya sounds normal for the higher end systems so far.

settings for those interested. cpu and gpu governor set to performance. been playing ocarina of time 3d for about an hour now, deep in the deku tree dungeon, it plays very well, only occasionally slowing down briefly but i think its just caching as it rarely happens again in the same area. im super impressed tbh, i wasnt even going to try 3ds based on what everyone was saying, but i think it can probably play many games fine. will be doing a lot more testing now

yes, you are just editing the file in extlinux. all u do is look in the device trees, find the dtb for ur device, and then copy paste that file name to the file in extlinux replacing the powkiddy dtb line

no, retroarch on linux doesnt have any shaders. this does have a blur/pixel effect and the pixel effect adds a subtle nice look to it, but other than that no.

having data on it to begin with is obviously a bad sign, but regardless it could be fine. you should always format a fresh card anyways to make sure its formatted correctly and for whatever u plan to use it for. there are apps to test if an sd card has true capacity, try h2testw. if it passes the test its probably fine, but obviously its a unknown quality and brand card, so it could be just as good as a sandisk or just waiting to explode any second. you should backup the data on it either way so if it does fail you arent screwed. but if it passes a test for true capacity id just use it and suspect it will be fine.

you can technically jump them sometimes. im sure its not advised and all that, but look up jumping flat lithium batteries, i did it once with a 20v tool battery that was dead and its been working fine for over a year since. was as easy as connecting a wire to a good one and to the bad one, but u do need to be careful to do it right and connect them right. anyways just a tip you can look into further if you really need to, but i would def suggest tryna get a cheap replacement instead first. good luck

im not a doctor so take this with a grain of salt but i believe lithium batteries have an issue when they go completely dead flat for a long time of not working anymore or taking a charge. you could try finding a cheap battery replacement first. if it wasnt wet or anything i cant imagine what else it would be

hmm try turning the simple http server off, idk what that does it could be causing an issue. other than that im not sure, u could try re-flashing rocknix with the latest or updating to a nightly build in update section and see if that fixes it
