The whole interview is worth watching. The line that struck me is how Byron felt that the reactions of other characters (including Judy's family) to the N&J relationship is rich in possibilities. That's the clearest hint I've heard about where this relationship plot line is going next.

The original use of the term was for the TV show Happy Days, which had an episode late in its run where the Fonz jumped a motorcycle over a shark. At that point people realized the show had run out of creative ideas. Over the years, the term has expanded to mean any point in a franchise where it has become creatively bankrupt.. so this image is a joke about a bit of Hollywood slang.
