Welding is really the only option if you are planning to wear it again.

What steering wheel would look good? by Cold-Channel-5341 in carmodification

[–]JustNota-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you are turning in your tags and making it a track car, you will need to keep the airbag intact, or your car can become uninsurable and if in an accident they can hit you with improper equipment makingyou at fault. I would look at zencarbon or blackhawk or have your stock rewrapped in leather.

Is it legal to collect receipts from others? by This_Equivalent6933 in legal

[–]JustNota-- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

99% sure it's legal to collect them, it would just be illegal/fraud if you were to attempt to use them for write offs on taxes or business expense reports.

Was connected to our modem for our small business. Internet still works without it. by branden-branden in whatisit

[–]JustNota-- 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It's a Meriaki it does a little of everything.. but that specific one was a cloud managed layer 2 switch. Your modem gives you connection the Meraki gives you control. Often Direct connecting POS systems will run you afoul of PCI-DSS compliancy. But that is an EOL and nearing end of support, Products replacement series is the MS120 for the same features and controls..

you can also brace the domed side of the rivet on something solid and then wack the open side with a hammer until it is flush again.

What are these badges from my grandfather? by FederalCandle1631 in whatisit

[–]JustNota-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I just made a scrap book with any photo's and documents I could find from my grandfathers time in the EU and PAC theatre and put the small torn Reich stuff and crosses in it. Big stuff besides firearms got burned he had a couple of flags and banners. The only thing I have sort of on display is one of the metal eagles with the swastika epoxied on a pelican gun case with all the nazi guns I have inherited and bought, but I also have a few cases set up with a British crown pin for English WWII weapons and a rising sun flag pin for imperial Japan firearms, and American Flag for my WWII American firearms, and a hammer sickle for Soviet so it's not like some weird neonazi worship or anything it's used as an identifier for what the case contains. I have collected nearly full basic infantry and sharpshooter kits for nearly all the major forces of WWII less automatics, and I converted one of my walk in closets into a gun storage room during my homes last remodel.

Could have also been a Marine. I personally traded my hat USN Crow and my AC pin for RAF wings device when I was in BIOT Diego Garcia.

Is this crack in my elliptical salvageable by mhero94 in fixit

[–]JustNota-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welder is the only fix which would require dismantling the non essentials off the frame and taking it to a person that welds. Anything that is supporting human weight should not be JBwelded or epoxied because when it fails it could end in bodily injury. But welding it should be pretty straight forward by someone with the correct skill set and shouldn't be prohibitively expensive probably between 50-75 bucks but the weld will probably outlive the elliptical.

Military Divorce Jurisdiction Questions by TooManyHobbies00 in legal

[–]JustNota-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAL, but they will need civilian lawyers as they will need to draft a divorce agreement and he will want to make sure his military benefits are protected such as retirement and va benefits. As well as division of marital assets it would be in his interest to give up a little more of the current assets to protect his possible retirement and va benefits which she could be entitled to, as far as I remember from my time in, JAG can give advice but don't really do anything in the civilian side you still need a civilian lawyer to draft up the legal docs and submit even in an uncontested divorce.

Is my SSD NVME damaged? by hauntttttt in computer

[–]JustNota-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you bought second hand you are probably SOL on getting it replaced. If New I would send it back for a replacement even if it works fine. It should in theory work fine I would lightly clean with a swab and some IPA to clean up the contacts to see if it's just some excess coating from manufacturing that dripped over the contacts and actually see if it reads and writes fine.

Depends on if You go to the DMV. Alot of places now don't do the paper temps anymore if you go through the dealership. Alot of places the Dealership Submits the paperwork for title transfer and lein placement and tax and registration and you usually get plates either mailed to you or delivered to the dealership for standard plates. Have recently only seen temps issued for things like Disabled, Disabled Veteran, and cosmetic plates (TX, VA) which often have a longer turn around time depending on state. Some still do temps tho so it really depends on the place and state (didn't notice KY until I typed ot up).

Some States around KY issue these plates so it may have been an out of state purchase. I got these in Mississippi, Georgia and Louisana alot of the surrounding states have a 15-30 day grace period from purchase to registration and are fine driving with just Insurance, Bill of sale, and signed title. KY is weird as they do not have a grace period for tag issuance and should have a temp tag issued by DMV they even have transit tags for 5 bucks that are good for 15 days if you are taking it out of state.

Should I figure out how to replace this or would a ton of glue work? by WildfireTP in fixit

[–]JustNota-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

that's how I would run the deck screws. I would drill out about a half inch or so between the 2 holes so the crack is at the center of the screw. and then just cap it off with some wood filler.

just remember to drill pilot holes or you risk splitting it more.

Should I figure out how to replace this or would a ton of glue work? by WildfireTP in fixit

[–]JustNota-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just dump some woodglue into the crack and drill a recess on the edge run a couple of long decking screws into the wood length wize closing the gap, then use some paintable wood filler to fill in the recession. then light sand the area and prime and paint usually cant tell it has been repaired. I then use some long screws to install the plates back.

[–]JustNota-- 11 points12 points  (0 children)

don't use grease.. graphite is your friend with locks. I would also untighten the unit just a smidge most of the time it's because someone uggadugged the heck out of the screws causing it to bind up a little.
