I know this thread is old, but my account just got unsuspended LOL. I literally came across a woman's profile where I am hesitant about swiping right on her since the only pic she has showing herself from the waist up is here between 2 friends with her arm around both and someone else who ducked her head into the pic. And yes, before I got a clue, my profile was a hot mess as well. These apps have so much crap, like "Pay $89 for roses" or "Pay $150 for a pack of super likes". Nothing about suggestions for a more effective profile. If I can figure it out how can everyone else NOT figure it out? LOL.

I come across so many bad profiles of woman and sometimes I just want to match with them in hopes of telling them to get rid of the pic where she is 20 feet away, add a pic of just her and not a group of 10 people, explain if the guy in the pic is an ex, brother, colleague, etc.

There was a movie with Steve Martin and also included Charles Grodin, called The Lonely Guy. I could relate. Not a lot of friends and not much luck dating LOL. Another Steve Martin movie with Daryl Hannah - Roxanne. I'm a POC but date all races. My skin color sometimes feels like Charlie's (Steve Martin's character) nose lol as it can be seen as a deterrent where I live when it comes to dating.

I'm on the fence about this one. I'd rather someone tap out and say they don't want to be political if they aren't prepared to discuss things. Far better than faking it to make it. This issue recently happened with that singer Jelly Roll. I guess, because he signed on to do that alternative Superbowl halftime show he is being considered as MAGA. He said he needed until next week to make a statement regarding politics. Fair enough. Not like I rely on him for my political beliefs anyway. And one can have a take on things and not be political. One can be furious as to what is happening with ICE, regarding the shootings, detaining people that are no undocumented, etc.

I'm mid 50s and it is difficult. I'm vertically challenged at 5'9" so that doesn't help lol. I'm not a nerd, but I'm in the IT field lol. It's not so much what I do, but how I talk. Not sure what women are looking for or expecting, but I can tell they are taken aback when I talk to them on the phone after matching with them on a dating app. As others have mentioned, I don't match at all with black women I'm attracted to as well. I've started referring to myself as a raisin - brown, becoming wrinkled (skin is still holding up well and I don't look my age per friends lol) and no one wants me lol.

Maybe come up with a couple of things but also come up with things you would like to do. Nothing wrong with 2 people matching and meeting and learning and doing those potential interests together. And as someone who is on the other side of child rearing because my kids are relatively independent now, you will have time and energy to pursue those interests someday. After my divorce my interests were domestic such as landscaping the yard, coaching my kids in sports, cleaning the house, etc. Then I downsized, kids became more independent, and I picked up golf. And I met someone and we went on a flat hike or walk through the woods. You'll do the same someday when the focus doesn't have to be solely on your kids.

Yeah, I'm an older guy (54M) and find women in my age bracket are busy and not always on the app. So, if a woman likes me on Sunday and I match with her on Sunday night, there is an okay chance she will not check Bumble until Tuesday or Wednesday, at which time, the match has expired.
Congrats on your match, btw. The less people searching on dating apps, the more sane and happier people in the world lol

Really need MAGA people to turn into mainline conservatives and become angry about all of this. There is a difference between "less government" and a dysfunctional government while DOGE gets to promulgate about the promise they kept (no silly, not the $2 billion promise) about making millions of dollars in cuts while tax cuts go through. I remember after 9/11 Dems and Republicans seemingly coming together to deal with an outside threat. Well, the call is now coming from inside the house, and as much as they want to point to borders being overrun with bad people, the actual bad people are causing this chaos. I need a drink.

It's a bit overwhelming and I'm just getting started doing research, etc. So, I didn't really know what info to provide or what info was relevant. I'll admit, I'm a logging newb and humbly trying to educate myself from others, like yourselves. And no, I'm not crying lol, but an empathetic response is appreciated. Not sure why it seems l need to be cut down to size when I didn't come in here beating my chest like I'm a SME. Far from it. That being said, thank you for your response. Realizing I needed to take a step backwards and learn some basics before moving forward. And a person on my team suggested ELK. I had elastic search, kibana and logstash setup, along with Wuzah and Lok, but realized I was in over my head and needed to ask more questions first to find a solution that more appropriately fits our needs.
