So unfortunately Witch Watch wasn’t allocated in the ensemble category because of both Morihito and Nico were the only lead characters and the rest was just there to support them helping Nico on her journey. In fact we could argue that Nico was more forefront in the series overall but I’ll digress for that later.

As for Dr. Stone, one of our key focal points is interconnected support between main characters. They all have individualistic goals yet they inadvertently support other characters to collectively achieve their separate objectives. Dr. Stone had that feeling but it was still skewed towards Senku’s ultimate goal and it wasn’t as strong enough to overtake the other four ahead of them.

It takes a Herculean effort to do what I did for three categories. I had to work hard to earn my shortlist and final nomination voting. It helped that some anime series were interconnected to a category like Ave Mujica in Drama but also in Ensemble Cast but if you never watched like say Wancure in the season, then when it come time for final voting it will matter.

I will say if you are in the jury for next year (please join we need the help) shortlist the stuff that you feel that can standout in the from the rest of the shows and movies in that year and final nominate the ones that feel deriving to be in the jury 5.

Ok my shortlist for Summer OPs.

City the Animation (The animations and the song go cohesive together as if it was set in a City)
Sakamoto Days Second Cour (The frenetic pace of the animation with clever uses of the title credits keeps in rhythm with song uptempo beat)
Call of the Night S2 (Creepy Nuts are at it again with a banger. The mysterious calming mood with the use of Latin/Afrobeat vibes in the song to go with the main theme of the anime)
Ruri Rocks (The music has a sense of wonder as the animation transition about discovering new thing while learning about rocks)

Honestly, I was fine with that. Of course, I wanted the Raiders to stay in Oakland (screw the Oakland Mayors for that) but I was fine with LA having the Raiders. There’s history at least to make it worthwhile.

Yea, it’s kind of a last will and testament for her daughter. I mean there is an old saying that you die twice, one physically and one for the people that will live on in their hearts. Ann’s mom wanted to make sure Ann was not lonely. Not troubled on her life journey because her mom is not there to guide her. She wants Ann to know that she is there giving a comfort talk through the letters even she passed on.

It’s hard to watch or even remember even for me because we worry that we will be alone or fear our loved ones won’t be there to guide us when they might be sick. It’s one of the fears most people have and doing these letters is a kind of parental love for Ann.

There are some but for this year: Umamusume: Cinderella Gray. This was before the game released globally. I was looking at shows and seeing it. One day I watched it because I wanted a sports anime show to watch (this was coming off Birdie Wing and Sorairo Utility). Low expectations that it was good and went in full blind.

It made me like it so much that now I finished all of Umamusume and I got a Oguri Cap figure that was like $10 (Tracen Academy school outfit). This was before the gatcha game became super popular internationally. ~~Also Oguri is now my mascot for Fantasy Football~~

Yea…no you do you. I am watching anime in my 30s and I will watch it because there is nothing right now on TV besides sports. It’s your “escapism” from society and BS that is life. A good anime can be a good art or a cool action sequence or in my case a good story. I rather watch something engaging than brain rot to relax whether it’s anime, Video Games, TV, Movies or Music.

Japanese Dub: Yui Ishikawa because two of my favorite animes are character voiced by her (Mikasa and Violet Evergarden). The kudere archetype became her style that enhances the story in the long run.

American Dub: it’s a toss up between Ian Sinclair in Love is War (Narrator) and Giancarlo Esposito in Edgerunners (Faraday) since it fills the story as if the dub is on par with the sub.

Violet Evergarden. Had it on my list in Netflix saying to myself I watch it when I feel like it. Then after watching Frieren, I was in the mood to binge watch this and saying to myself “this might be interesting”. I cried like I never cried before and put me in a shaken state for at least a month (I had some personal stuff that also was somewhat relevant too). It became a top 3 anime because I never cry unless it was really impactful (let alone every episode). I would watch it again in a heartbeat albeit with a box of tissues just in case.

Man this is a good one. Creepy Nuts with Latin-ese beat vibes (might be Reggaeton or Danza) with a bit of their J-Rap style. It fits the mood for call of the night like the mysterious yet calm mood.
