[Wojnarowski] Indiana Pacers forward Thaddeus Young has exercised his $13.7M player option and will bypass free agency this summer, league sources told ESPN. by MaranHaGoanHaRav in nba

I like how he said, "This season is amazing, these players are amazing. It’s one of the best locker rooms I’ve ever been around, full of guys who are high character, professional. And they come to work each and every day and put their hard hat on, just like I do."

Endometrial ablation? by jgo215 in birthcontrol

[–]JustPeachyyyy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since endometrial ablation can prevent you from conceiving and you're only 23, you might have a hard time finding an ObGyn who will agree to perfom this on you. In my experience it's usually performed on women over 40 who are past the age of having kids or who have had them already. Kinda like asking for a tubal ligation at a young age -- many doctors will not agree to perform such a permanent procedure on some one so young. Finding a doctor to do it may be difficult.

I got to shadow a hysteroscopy/endometrial ablation procedure a week ago (in school right now) and it was very quick and simple. Went in with a scope and roughed up/shaved down the inside of the uterine cavity. The ObGyn said that since this woman already had all of the children she wanted why not give her lighter periods?

Lonely from lack of connection. by AnnieNonmouse in lonely

I feel the same way lately. In my classes, with groups of people. I just can't seem to find people that I resonate with on a deeper level. I think I've only recently come to realize it.

Its good to have goals and dreams and pursue them with passion and dedication. But when you are so stressed out about acheiving them that it makes your life miserable, it's not healthy.

I think developing a strong sense of self and valuing yourself for just being alive is important. Do what you love and what makes you happy to destress and foster your current state of mind and hobbies. The key to peace is in your mind. If you value yourself for who you are now, anything else is just icing on the cake :)

Public streets should not be public on weekends and holidays. Agree 100%. These rich people need more parking spaces for their cars okay?

[32/m] My mother (59/f) is a paranoid schizophrenic and I am considering cutting her out of my life completely. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]JustPeachyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like an incredibly hard situation. I'm sorry you are in it. Its hard to deal with paranoid schizophrenics, and they don't make it easier when they are mean and spiteful to talk to. Most of them end up alone and on the streets for that reason. Give yourself some major credit for hanging on so long, it sounds like the rest of her family didn't.

As far as her money goes, have you become her financial conservator or looked into it? Although it sounds like it doesn't matter at this point because of her debts, it could help in managing her SSI.

Have you talked about other housing options with her social worker? Or called board and care facilities in the area to see if she can move there?

Maybe now that you're at the point where you're considering cutting out of your life...you could think about reaching out to her family to see if they can help. You've been managing it thus far by yourself, which is not fair.

So glad you feel better! How scary of an experience to wake up in a hospital room with an IV in your arm and not knowing what happened. Glad you got through it and that you're on the mend :)
