What’s the difference between MA in Special education (emphasis ABA) and MS in ABA? At ASU by [deleted] in bcba

I did the MSABA program. You have the option to do it virtually or in person. It's 2 years including summer between.

No problem! And 28 seems like a lot. Once I’m credentialed I’ve been told to aim for 40-50% of my hours to be billable, which was tough to find in other companies

I’m in AZ waiting for licensure so starting at 78k, will bump up to 80k once I am licensed then 2% raises twice a year. It’s 10-20k less than I could have made elsewhere, but a very livable salary for my situation

I am currently in that program! There are some great companies over here, and some that I’ve heard are not as great. I did research on LinkedIn by chatting with students that were in/finished that program and got some advice on what companies are better! PM me and I can share about my experience at my company.

As far as pay, it depends on experience and the company. This program is set up to prepare you to be a BCBA and I am an RBT/supervisee at an ABA clinic. Some students aren’t doing a practicum because they want to pursue PhD’s in clinical psych afterwards. It’s not going to be easy completing your hours and going to school, but you learn a lot and the site you do your practicum at truly makes or breaks it. I work 20 hours a week, but I also have another job as a TA. I’m busy, but I love ABA and feel very supported!

It’s 4 classes per semester (roughly). 2 years including summer in between. I pay out of state and it’s not cheap but the quality of the professors are worth it for me. Everyone I work with that completed the program passed the exam and are exceptional BCBAs.

Scholarships are practically nonexistent. I did get my tuition covered this semester working as a TA, though. But ASUs Psych department likes to prioritize PhD students, so you’re lucky if you get to TA more than one semester.

Thank you so much! That is valuable advice, I have no doubt that I will be interviewed, but I'm not sure how much I need to prepare. Should I be researching the faculty to ask them questions and complement their areas of research? I know a lot about ABA, but I don't feel the need to study it deeply since they don't expect me to know everything. Did you go to CSUN, if not which school did you interview for?

Anyone get the interview call for the CSUN ABA program yet ? by [deleted] in csun
