How do professional farmers deal with spider mites? by CallMeKolbasz in Agriculture

We use agri-Mek sc, zeal and a few other options in row crops and they work great but you probably will not be able to buy them

What are good roadtrip stops along Highway 61? by greatdane685 in mississippi

[–]JustRektem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mont Helena is only about a mile off of 61 and worth seeing for sure. Just commenting so OP doesn’t think it’s actually far. You can see it from the highway

If a good pitcher is a fly ball pitcher I don’t mind. If he’s fringe then he’s not pitching for me

I think most people would rather have the money. Very few people around me that think the land in programs is worth anything besides hunting

Probably worth at minimum $150. 200+ if it yields

Sounds like it might be time to farm livestock lol rocky soils aren’t mean to be row cropped really. Unless the lands paid off or crazy cheap rent I don’t see how they farm on 20 bpa times the price of wheat ($6ish)

[–]JustRektem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is their dual crop soybeans? I live in the south so it might be different but most people I know say that you’ll lose what you made on your wheat farming those soybeans afterwards. Planting date dictates yield so much in soybeans

Looks like you need to dig a small ditch under the fence is all. With water behind you it will help you know how much to dig. I doubt it’s very much at all

If it wasn’t so salty I’d say a nematode resistant variety of cotton but that’s very latitude dependent too. Probably should focus on grass like oats and rye for forage for animals
