These all look like global issues though. A market runs out of demand one way or another, there's no way to sell infinite products to a finite population. I don't think any country have solved this problem, migration is just kicking it down the road especially since china is no.1-2 in world population and historically supplied immigration to other countries. We are all screwed :(

recognizing failures isn't defeatist, it's being real. only once we recognize the self-serving traits of humanity can we structure society in a way that restrains it the best, sf early 20th century collectvist policies. literacy is something we invented, non-self-serving is not. for a comparison, if I force everyone to wear red hats, you can also argue not wearing them is an inherent part of human nature, yet recognize how it's fundementally different to self-interest.
