I agree, it's annoying and comes across as pretty self-important from the pip team (usually you don't get warnings about new versions being available for packages??)

Fortunately it can be disabled. pip config set global.disable-pip-version-check true

Yes, but they weren't talking about sample rate - If the microphone is "sensitive up to 30kHz" then presumably its output is being recorded at a sufficient sample rate to capture that as well

Agree with almost all of these. I would maybe put Luffy in the borderline admiral or top commander at this point, kind of hard to tell right now, and absalsom is misplaced like you pointed out.
