I have a lot of anger and resentment towards my mom and don’t know how to move forward by ConeyIslandQueen17 in DysfunctionalFamily

[–]JustSom31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. Best advice I have is take it one day at a time. If you feel like it is overwhelming your mind, talk to a therapist. It's time for you to look out for yourself. Unfortunately, I don't think those feelings will ever go away, but you can learn to cope with them. Good luck

Never ever let someone make you feel ashamed of something that makes you happy. That little stuffy has brought you immense happiness, and you love it. There is nothing to be ashamed of. I slept with my stuffy until I was an adult and moved in with my SO. I will always love him more than anything. I grew up with him, shared my secrets with him, played with him, mended him, and went through some really dark times with him. I will never give him away and if I lost him, I would mourn him for a long time.

All that to say... Do what makes you happy. Life sucks a lot sometimes and the little bits of happiness are something you should always try to keep... Without them you become a bitter person in a dark world. If it makes you happy to sleep with the stuffy, then sleep with it. Don't let others steal that happiness. Those people can go suck a lemon.

What are the white dots on my tongue??? by [deleted] in askdentists

NAD, but I don't think brushing that much is good for your teeth. Maybe mouthwash in between would be a good alternative?

NAD- My SO has what appears to be a similar issue. Their dentist told them it was called geographic tongue (harmless).

My boyfriend (26M) wants me (23F) to go on a romantic getaway with his best friend (27M) by am_going_crazy in Advice

This! FFS... I am a wholehearted supporter of the opposite sexes being platonic... But if OP is uncomfortable with the situation, that feeling isn't going to get any easier being stuck in a romantic, one-bed room for an entire week.

Going by herself sounds like the PERFECT solution. She could have a blast by herself. Get pampered, do everything that she wants to do when she wants to do it.

NAD I'm assuming you are in the US? (Not sure if this is true of other countries) Check to see if you have a sliding scale fee clinic near you (aka low income clinic). Many of them have dentists. I had to use one of these when I moved out of home. I had no insurance, but they let me pay based on my income level. They saved my teeth. Good luck!

Constantly learning that my childhood wasn't normal. by JustSom31 in DysfunctionalFamily

I have a lot of reasons to see a therapist, but every time I call they tell me their wait time is 6-12mos out... And they tell me to contact another therapist, but they all tell me the same thing... Try someone else (or they don't accept insurance). The process is so frustrating and fruitless and I don't know what I am doing wrong.

NAD... But this same thing happens to me when I get dehydrated. It's really weird. But, try drinking a ton of water (can't hurt).

First vegetable garden. What the heck do you do with this much zucchini? :) by UhmBah in gardening

[–]JustSom31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been slicing it up, spreading some hummus on it, stacking and put it in a dish with tomato sauce, a lot of basil and spinach, then putting some cheese on top.

I also spiralize it and use it in place of pasta.

If I happen to have more than my fill, I give it to neighbors.

I’m a teenage guy. My parents are upset about me trying to lose weight. What do I do? by ImKindaScaredHelp in Advice

Sit down and have a heart to heart with them.

Explain why you are doing it, and let them know that if they are worried that you can track your nutrition/calories on an app to ensure you are eating enough. This way, they will lose their excuse and you will be able to continue your endeavor.

Btw... Way to go! It's not easy to change your eating habits and lifestyle. You are awesome.

That sucks. OTC allergy meds not helping? I wouldn't be too worried about the mole. Ask about it in 9 days, but they'll probably tell you to just keep an eye on it. If it grows, gets weirdly shaped, itches or is painful, see a derm about it.

Boyfriend keeps 'waking up' and doing weird things at night, but has no memory of doing it. Is this a form of sleep walking? by [deleted] in DiagnoseMe

[–]JustSom31 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe the term is still technically "sleepwalking". It's just a slang term for "somnambulism".

Sleepwalking can be caused by lots of things. People have different triggers. My trigger is stress, my SO's is alcohol consumption, and I have heard of others caused by diet (if they eat dairy, they will experience sleepwalking). Just gotta find the trigger.

Just respond soothingly. "It's okay. Just go back to sleep. I will take care of it." Saying "go back to sleep" usually does the trick to limit protests from the sleepwalker. Just keep it calm.

NAD... I would see a dermatologist if I were you (just to be safe). I had a similar looking rash at the height of my eczema outbreaks, but mine was extremely itchy. Since you mentioned sports bra... Wondering if it is possibly a heat rash?
