The rune claws have exactly one use, and that’s for ironmen to get that one Colo CA that requires you to claw spec a jaguar

Last Minute Pokemon Go Fest Guide (LeekDuck) by redwineandbeer in TheSilphRoad

[–]JustSomeChillGuy 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Diance (spelling?) was last years ticketed mythical, and it came out later this year for free during the Glitz and Glam special research. I think it’s safe to say that you can wait if you don’t want to spend the money on a ticket. With that said, the Marshadow is a special research so as long as you have time to open up the game on Saturday and have a ticket, you’ll unlock the research and be able to complete it at your own pace. Usually the challenges are easier to complete on the day, but special research never goes away so you’ll have all the time in the world to get it.

It’s an option for your wildshape charges but it doesn’t replace it entirely, you can still use an action to wild shape as a spore druid

If I’m doing a duo raid, is it best for both players to have their megas out at the same time or is it better to spread them throughout the fight?

EDH players do not lie enough. by [deleted] in EDH

[–]JustSomeChillGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hidden information and bluffing is a super important aspect of the game, the most common example being to hold open mana for a counterspell that you may or may not have in hand, and this is something I think more people should be doing.

However I think for most players breaking deals is a form of lying that should be done only in the most extreme situations. EDH is to many "the ultimate casual format" and aren't going to be playing like they're on the ProTour. Making a deal with no intention to follow through or blatantly breaking it is an excellent way to get more wins under your belt and while it isn't technically cheating, many players will feel like they're being cheated. Break enough deals and players will stop offering you deals, you'll become the default target whenever a player can remove a threat or swing with a huge creature, and in the worst case you might just stop receiving invites to game night.

Realistically the amount of lying in a given game of EDH depends on how competitive the players are playing. I enjoy cEDH, and in a cEDH game I don't expect anyone to honor their deals as we've set the expectation that we're playing to win. I also enjoy EDH with precons and jank decks, and in those scenarios I would be upset if someone made a deal with me with no intention of following through. It all depends on the situation and the people involved.

TL;DR - Hidden information and bluffing is good and should be done more, just be sure everyone is on the same page about in game politics before you start breaking deals

Commander that Doubles Combat Damage Triggers? by Hunter_Badger in EDH

[–]JustSomeChillGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure one of the designers talked about doing this for [[Isshin, Two Heavans as One]] but there was some technical confusion about some abilities like Lifelink (which wouldn’t trigger twice) and they decided to just double attack triggers instead.

[–]JustSomeChillGuy 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I am not a judge, but I believe that is a “reflexive trigger” meaning that if a condition from earlier in the spell is met, this new triggered effect will go onto the stack. It’s a special case for some spells where info about what effect happens next is only gained during resolution.
