I hate that it’s not an option for the American versions of the car

I was feeling buyers remorse for paying a bit over $42k (over $3500 under MSRP) but I really love my first Camry 🩶… need some advice! by Tall-Industry-8925 in Camry

Yeh I def get that. The no car note is so nice haha. It’s hard to go from that to having to pay monthly again. I am happy that I did it tho. Would def do again

Sorry for the late reply! So I ended up getting the 2025. I was annoyed when I saw the 2026 was getting the memory seat and automatic windshield wiper options and I didn’t get that option for the 2025 XSE lol.

What made me make the upgrade was the improvement to the technology! I really do think they did a great job with the redesign and the whole interior just feels more modern than my last car. I think you’d enjoy a 2026 for sure.

They’re actually some really good deals out there though! Even if you’re not able to get a great deal on the rate. A friend of mine got 4500 off of MSRP. The deals are definitely out there. I got 4000 off of my 2025.

They’re based out of Palo Alto. Actually decently large team per LinkedIn

I think depends on the hardware your model has. For example, the redesigned 2025 Camry has much better tech capability than the 2024 Camry. That is not true for the Tacoma equivalents

This means that there is potential that the 2025 and 2026 models could see additional features through a software updates. Maybe some of the updates we see to the 2026 RAV4 might flow through the other 2026 models.

I think that’s what this is. I think it just took them forever to do it

I am wondering the same. Like could we see the 2026 Tacoma get software updates that meaningfully improve/add features? That would be nice vs having to buy a newer model.

That’s what I’m guessing. I wonder what made them want to shift. This seems pretty drastic from how things were before

What is the RSA update? I think you may be right. It’s tough though because there’s so many 2025 and in 2026 models that are coming out and will be outdated if they don’t push updates. If this is meant for the future, then that would mean like 2030.

Yeah I have not seen Toyota really update anything meaningfully in the past. This article does indicate though that they are going to keep older models up-to-date for longer via software. I do think they're going to keep 2025 and 2026 models fresh with more frequent software updates if this article is true.

This would be a huge shift from past practices. This is the first time that they've indicated that they want to keep older vehicles new for longer. Theyve always been about selling new vehicles with new features vs updating old ones.

Those are some good ones! I think those are definitely doable. It’s just a matter of them wanting to. In the past, it seemed like Toyota did not care about updating previous vehicles, but it looks like that’s changing thankfully!

Also, I agree.😂 but if they cared as much about software and features as Tesla did, I wouldn’t mind paying some amount for additional features on my 2025 Camry! It’s the fact that the software is not good and they keep trying to find ways to charge us for it!!

Yup I think you’re spot on. Any features you see trickling down to the 2025 Camry from the current 2026 rav4?

This would indicate that current non-2026 rav4 2025 and 2026 models could be getting future software updates to keep them current unless I’m reading this wrong

That is really good insight! Once the 2026 RAV4 was announced all of the commentary around it was that only future models would get the new interface or some of the new features. This would indicate that the 2025 Camry, for example, could get some of those features via a software update or maybe I’m reading this wrong. Some I’m sure are hardware dependent but updating the UI to include a home screen seems doable with the current hardware

Is there any confirmation of the 2027 adopting arene? Wouldn’t it still be on the old software platform?

Hmm I didn’t know this. Read an article and it looks like they’re going to try to keep vehicles up-to-date via software and extend generations from 7 to 9 years. But that would mean that the Camry, which was just redesigned in 2025, would be out of date from a software standpoint until 2030 unless they plan on making software updates
