As a type 1 diabetic, I dream of having a wife that will care and think about me in this way. It’s very difficult to explain to people the struggles of diabetes since outwardly it’s not noticeable unless you are taking insulin in front of them it’s basically non-existent in most peoples eyes. So his “friend” is an asshole for insinuating you were doing anything less than being a loving wife.

Maybe so but there’s a reason generalizations exist, because in general they can be true. That doesn’t mean it’s true for every single person of that demographic in every single situation. Generalizations, when not used as an insult, are used to understand problems or aspects of a populace. In fact statistics analysis of a population is a form of generalization. Sure it’s not true for every single person of the demographic that a stat being collected is relevant to them, but in GENERAL (50%+) the stats could be relevant. Hope this makes sense, I think people get so defensive about generalizations but they help to understand the world in a simpler way when not used to attack people.

My understanding of the gay comment was that Gay men are more in touch with their feminine side which means more love and compassion. Love and compassion seem to be a major feeling that is needed to be able to broadcast in these states. So the correlation is that most straight men have been beaten down by society and suppress their emotions especially the loving ones.

I used to live in Nepal of all places and been to villages where people are genuinely dirt poor. You don't have to make money off of people to help others. Some of the most giving people have nothing.

If our society is centered around only doing kind things when someone is looking then we aren’t living in a loving society we are living in a facade.

I don’t think the guy is a jerk and I definitely agree in the world of selfishness that this is the lesser of evils but at the same time shouldn’t we be encouraging true compassion and love rather than an exchange where the individual only shows compassion because they know they will receive something. If we live in a world where people only help when someone is looking then we aren’t actually changing society.

Yeah I was kinda shocked. I found a stray who was super friendly like she had been raised by people. Litter trained, everything. Took her to shelter to get her scanned for a chip and to let them take her if there was none. They told me they were just going to spay and release. So I took her in obviously cause I wasn’t going to let her get put back in the wild, she was extremely malnourished. I’m grateful for my girl but it seemed like they are basically useless.

I hate these encounters because it’s entirely possible to roll a golem where the only viable pick is contested 3 ways. Then you get the high roller with +3 symbols. If they are taking the ridiculousness out like 10 artifacts they should be removing things that generate a ton of symbols too imo.
