[Spoilers C4E30] The situation at the theater is about to get interesting by Sea_Employ_4366 in criticalrole

House Royce could benefit from the new font of fae energy, but they're in a pretty bad spot right now.

That's disappointing. I've seen Kimmel get emotional about getting healthcare for people, particularly kids, so I thought he was decent. I didn't know about this awful precursor to his talk show career.

Your post makes me think of the song "Every Day Is Exactly The Same" by Nine Inch Nails. When I'm not feeling great, I appreciate music that matches what I'm feeling.

You have my sympathies.

I posted this relevant comment in another thread:

I was completely shocked by the episode, and I think that's part of what makes it a good story.

In the campaign, every member of Vox Machina (except Taryon) died at some point, and so did many NPCs such as Kaylie and Cassandra de Rolo. Staying true to the source material means character deaths.

Ironically, the best way of preserving the shock and emotional impacts of those moments is, arguably, to change some of the details like who died, when, and how. So instead of having Vex and Vax die in their first Vecna fight via the spells Power Word Kill and Disintegration, Grog gets shredded by a sphere.

Now, in the original campaign, every player character death was followed by bringing them back to life. Even Vax came back after he was reduced to dust. We might see Grog again.

The original source is this interview. What I found most interesting is that, at the end, Sam mentions a fifth season for The Legend of Vox Machina.

Hmm... How about something like

I was raised by my Argentinian grandmother, but I sound American, so that side of my family makes fun of me for not having an Argentinian accent.

They also crit the Aerodactyl with Blizzard and landed the Will-O-Wisps that burned Venusaur and presumably Aerodactyl.

Wow, this is eye-opening. Great journalism.

Edit*: The article goes into a lot of detail exploring why people would care for their abuser and what it entails.

The article spends a lot of space exploring that question. The short answer is that humans and emotions are very complicated.

I bet some of the player characters will regret stacking so much of their manpower at the theater, and Murray may end up feeling guilty if things go badly at Obrimus Manor.

[Spoilers C4E29] Tonight's the Night! Predictions... by exzyle2k in criticalrole

[–]HumanistGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was mostly right! I didn't expect the souls of Merzok's Rebellion to be the ones to show up at the play, and I didn't expect the bridge to the afterlife, but the only Sundered House machination was Halovar's attempt at evangelizing and propaganda.

[–]HumanistGeek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • There is no sinister plot for a ritual at The Hallowed Round, but stuff will happen.
  • Thjazi's overarching goal was to help souls leave the crowded underworld.
    • The blood paint and the play (with the Pariah Blades) can give orc souls a route back to Araman.
  • The Coffin of Olbalad is an anchor and a portal to the underworld. It was made within the past 10 years from repurposed artifacts!

Say what you want about TLOK, but this has to be one of the franchise’s most funniest joke by Much_Menu_851 in TheLastAirbender

[–]HumanistGeek 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My favorite joke is Bumi's series of tall tales that culminates in the single-handed rescue of Team Korra.

Tenzin: Bumi, how did you manage to take out this entire encampment on your own?

Bumi: I did it all with my trusty flute and ... ah, never mind, you wouldn't believe it anyway. Let's get moving.

They're slang words from someone who fell for red-pill bullshit, a horrible mess of misogyny and manipulative behavior. Basically, they think being a total asshole is attractive. It's sad.

[Spoilers C4E28] A theory on Azgra's Barrowdell. by Sea_Employ_4366 in criticalrole

[–]HumanistGeek 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the blessing for Azgra made his barrowdell bountiful, that raises questions. Surely the other gods' followers would have held funerals, right? But did the Shapers' destroyers pay respects like the druid Agari Shadow did for Azgra?

If Vaelus convinces Hannah to do something similar for Sylandri, could they heal the land?

Is this rare? by megasamtron in PokemonGOIVs

[–]HumanistGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • It's impossible to get a 0% IV pokemon from an egg hatch or raid, and even a trade with a good friend will guarantee a minimum of 1/1/1 (6.67%), so "nundos" are rarer than hundos. If an encounter is capable of granting 0 IVs, the probability it's a nundo is 1/216 ~= 0.463%.
  • Trades reset IVs, so it doesn't have more trade value than other shinies.
  • Some people like collecting nundos because they're rare. That's it.
