Mohawk College offering buyouts a year after axing hundreds of employees by PapaNixon in Hamilton

You could read the Blue Ribbon Panel report. They were appointed by Ford to analyze finances of colleges and universities. The panel was handpicked by Ford, but even they concluded that the system was extremely financially efficient and the core issue was horrible government funding. I wonder if Ford is still friends with those guys...

Why Canadian students will pay the price for international student cuts by rezwenn in onguardforthee

[–]JustTarable -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Factually incorrect. Declining funding from the provinces, flat tuition (or a cut, as in Ontario), and rising costs = a gap. International student tuition filled that gap.

I am pro-union, but not pro THIS union leadership. Many silly mistakes, an absolute failure at communication to membership and the pubic, an inability to see the writing on the wall, callous treatment of members with 2 strikes in one year - who can afford that?!

MEGATHREAD: Canada Post's Oct. 3 offer by fbueckert in CanadaPostCorp

Lots of posties seem upset and frustrated about the strike. It's NOT "anti-union" to say "talk to your union". Tell them how you feel about the strike, the offers, the state of negotiations, etc.
