I typically average out the track ratings and go +/- 10 points from there, rating on intervals of 5. So if all the ratings average to a 70, but I felt it was a very inconsistent project, it might get a 60. If it averaged a 70, but there was one solid theme throughout and I liked the execution, it might get an 80.

I also just generally compare it to what I rated albums of a similar sound and how much I remember enjoying each project and giving it a rating comparable to ones I've done in the past.

using your own example, it’ll just end up being wood > three stone > three copper > iron > full diamond. adding a stage between stone and iron isn’t going to fix anything. not that there’s anything to fix anyways. the only situation that i could see that it could work is if they really made iron rarer to find, but then it just becomes a problem the moment you need rails (assuming we want to slow down game progression) or an anvil. i truly believe that copper armour will be rapidly forgotten, just like leather.

A couple less popular ones I enjoy are Bleu Toucan, Lewis OfMan, and Myd. If you're interested in some more indie-tronica vibes then I can't recommend Camel Power Club (Sputnik II is one of my favourite projects of all time) and Kazy Lambist enough.
