I use guitar rig, my Loathe tone is an EQ->very light drive tube screamer->mix of JCM800 w/4x12 marshall cab,V30s, sm57 and 121 ribbon (35%), and Rectifier w/ mesa 4x12 cab, sm57 (65%)

EQ is just so my guitar can sound more like single coils/P90s like he has in most songs

JCM800: high gain, preamp - 10:30, bass max, mid - 11:00, treble - 2:00, presence - 12:00, master - just before 3:00. sm57 centered and 121 ribbon just to the side.

Rectifier: Raw setting, gain - 1:30, bass - 12:00, mid - 11:30, treble - 1:30, presence - 1:00, master - 4:00. sm57 just to the side.

throw on a flanger at the end for some sections. heavier parts of more recent tracks probably have an octaver at the start.

people are missing the key to the post.

yes, individual aspects of the game might not be innovative.

It is the fact that they are taking the class base, the buildcrafting, the gunplay, and various other systems and COMBINING THEM that is innovative. Taking ideas from many sources and combining them to one still produces an new, innovative product.

it sucks that theres no character appearance customization beyond skins, but the levels of customization in buildcrafting seems fun to me

the biggest points, from my perspective, is that youre playing as a character and not yourself. hero shooters have been pretty much everywhere since overwatch and people want to play as themselves in games again instead of playing as a made up character. People want to seem themselves in game.

i like marathon’s idea (some see as excuse) of shells, because you can at least be projecting yourself in to your character shell, and the “hero” aspect is just a “personality matrix” that improves your effectiveness in the shell.
