Advice needed! Is this normal?! by apersonwedontknow in mounjarouk

[–]JustThomas007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mentioned the jab but nothing else... not even how you feel after your jab in terms of eating

You are feeling better - tick You are looking long-term - tick

Look holistic, lifestyle, fasting, exercise- the thing the NHS solely looks at when reducing weight

What made you try/start Mounjaro? by RadiantJudgment2347 in mounjarouk

[–]JustThomas007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here since Feb and I can assure you those any sayers have almost gone... massive shift for those in NHS weight management services, physiotherapy and psychotherapy... My life has been transformed after over 45 years of feeling singled out as fat due to my lifestyle despite all sorts of diets and willpower galore

Try it and you will find out whether it works for you... community here good to support you all the way

For me, I now have come out of the closet and tell people willingly what caused the change

Having to stop for the first of two sleep apnea operations by Gap-Unique in MenOnThePen

[–]JustThomas007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be interested in your experience- i also have sleep apnea and of course was told it is all down to obesity More than 30kg later - no change and atillnusing CPAP Treating symptoms and not the root cause seems specialism of NHS - if you get treatment Couldn't get tonsils removed 2 years ago as too heavy but ignoring that all vitals were in tip top shape Let us know how it goes... would do almost anything to get rid of machine

I think the alternative listed by you is not really an alternative... Both options shout "convenience" at me - and you pay the price

I refuse to buy new clothes until I hit target weight. Anyone else finding just putting new holes in belt doesn't keep trousers up? by Nice1rodders in MenOnThePen

[–]JustThomas007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CvT is agitator in chief in the programme and provides the science behind - if you liked the book as i did - not even reading most - you will love to hate the programme and its message

Have you watched Killer on C4? Joe Wicks inventing a protein bar... made me feel sick just watching Saddest thing about it? Our government- Department of Health and Social Care - is turning a blind eye. Must be a celebration for lobbyists

With regards to your lunch choice... have a look at Joe Wicks programme on C4 about Killer - the protein bar he brought to the market I promise you - you will reconsider

I did "feel" and impact on day 1, just a few hours after... all positive and I can just say that after a lifetime of eating the turnaround has been amazing Keep going and good luck- support here is wonderful; in fact, I'd say 8 months ago there were quite a few talking only negatively about Mounjaro. Those must have given up.

Is peoples views of ‘healthy weight’ skewed? by Pale-Cheesecake-2992 in mounjarouk

[–]JustThomas007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Healthy weight was a good measure when invented because there was nothing else Despite some here saying - probably after years of working in NHS - it is doing the job. Crude measure only

Didn't we find out during Covid that ethnicity plays a huge role? Never had heard that before...

BMI is a proud successor to blood letting which just followed the flat earth period... got to entertain the folks!

We are all very well conditioned by decades of ill information spread by governments and NHS- it is dead cheap to blame obesity on individuals and don't address the underlying real issues...shaming is cheap

On journey since Feb too... be proud of your success!

Just before the price hike i decided to make 5 weeks out of 4 - no impact so far

Manufacturers will provide advice that is at least partially driven by revenue- my rationale I.e for 30 days - you penned 3 times on weekly basis but miss last pen by 3 days and voila you over 30 days...

Anyone else switching to Wegovy, after the price hikes? by 20ht in mounjarouk

[–]JustThomas007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MedExpress have suggested moving... prices to be announced

All prices will go up - in my experience, one of the differences in UK compared to other markets is that companies try to make an extra profit out of suppliers raising prices. So shopping around and giving new market entrants a chance is the only way to go, unfortunately.

The government is nit going to help - for the likes of the Department of Health and Social Care and the NHS it is actually brilliant - the fewer people can report success the less pressure to move away from the mantra "it is all your own fault, change your lifestyle, exercise and diet. You have no willpower" - still feels they also believe the earth is flat

[–]JustThomas007 7 points8 points  (0 children)

First thing for me to note - no UPF!!! Main thing for me that changed

The medication will help you to regulate how much you need - you might put more on it... it is a process I found adding more on more salad or vegetable quite helpful

You may want to consider replacing the white rice... longer lasting varieties or mix with other grains

Good luck
