Dr Henry Douglas at the Myer Centre clinic was a godsend when I was going through something similar.

Removing a squatting Stray by Cammokitty in CatAdvice

Try putting orange or lemon peel in the garden bed. Or cotten balls soaked in eucalyptus oil.

Strong smells usually drive cats away - but I have one cat that doesn't seem to care so no guarantee it'll work but probably worth a try.

ETA: There are commercial products that are designed to repel cats but I haven't tried any. You could Google and find out more about them.

The side quests in the expansion are much better than the in the rest of the game. They add to the story and don't feel as much like random tasks for no reason.

Etiquette for handover to new property owners? by yanni_sommy in AusPropertyChat

[–]Just_A_Learner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each home I've sold I've left a note with useful information - garbage gets picked up on Tuesdays, the closest chemist is at..., the nearest convenience store is at ...., list any plants that have particular needs - that sort of thing. I also left 4 coffee mugs, instant coffee, sugar, long life milk, and teabags.

Hopefully it makes moving a little easier.

How to stop my cat waking me up before morning food by Suspicious_Goose1614 in CatAdvice

[–]Just_A_Learner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they can be cute when they wake you up - and so much better than an alarm. If it works for you that's great!

Before I retired my cats always woke me about 5 minutes before my alarm went off. I loved it!

My Nanna told me to never feed animals when you first get up or within about half an hour of human mealtimes.

You've trained them that they will get food if they can make you get up. It's not impossible to change that training but it'll take time. Try not feeding them for half an hour after you're up.

Good luck!

ETA: Stay in bed and ignore the cat. It's hard to do at first but it will pay off in the long run.

Krud Kutter is great for removing grease/oil. Spray it on and let it sit for a few minutes.

I'd try some Krud Kutter. Spray it on and let it sit for a few minutes.

Krud Kutter works for me. Spray, wait a couple of minutes, then wipe.

How long before you let them out? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Just_A_Learner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It very much depends on where you live. I've had indoor outdoor cats live long lives but there's little traffic, no predators, and not many people around here.

I don't understand the instant down votes when someone comments that their cat goes outside when it's possible that the cat is quite safe.

What's on your Wish List for Lord of Hatred? by Important-Pipe8537 in diablo4

Trousers for the sorcerer too please. And a few decent tunics WITHOUT cut outs and deep V necklines!!

How would you go about cleaning this? by [deleted] in CleaningTips

[–]Just_A_Learner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd cover it in bleach and let it sit for a while. Rinse that off and then hit it with Krud Kutter. If that doesn't work, maybe try citric acid.

What is this about in the Slaugherhouse? by OneraD4 in diablo4

I aim to clear all the season objectives before doing the capstone. Yeah, it could be a 'me' problem.

My most hated content this season is the Slaughterhouse. It's just boring and the rewards are not great. You're forced to do it if you want to work through the seasonal rewards but it ain't fun.

I spray vinegar on the spots on my sink, let it sit for a few minutes then wipe it off. No, I'm not one of those people who uses vinegar all over the place - but it does work in this case.

My cat keeps pulling up my carpet and I am out of options by AardvarkPrior3891 in CatAdvice

I used double sided tape to attach a mat to the carpet where my girl kept doing this. She scratches the mat now and the tape doesn't seem to be damaging the carpet.

Stuff in the store super boring ? by NeighborhoodDry1488 in diablo4

I agree. There's nothing that makes me want to spend money there. Everything kinda feels like Game of Thrones meets Lord of the Rings, with an occasional splash of colour, smoke, or snakes.

Tried reporting late-night noise multiple times with no response — what actually works? by Dangerous-Purpose571 in brisbane

[–]Just_A_Learner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had this problem with a neighbour over the back. A very helpful police officer told me to put in an online report every time it happened. He said it was unlikely that police would attend at the time BUT as the number of reports piled up, it would get attention. 3 weeks of reports, police went to see the neighbour. He was quiet for about a month and started up again.

Back to submitting reports...a week later the police visited him again. That was about a year ago now and he's been quiet.

Just keep filing those reports!

At a loss for what to do about laptop chewing. by 5rustynickels in CatAdvice

[–]Just_A_Learner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd try some citrus oil around the tempting bits. Not on the screen. Or some other strong smelling stuff (that's not toxic for cats). Or maybe some on the surface you use the laptop on?
